A private family run hotel and you could understand why it is so good. The staff were interested and very helpful, attentive at all times and creating a really friendly vibe. First time at the hotel and will recommend it !

Beautiful boutique hotel in a fabulous building. Staff were exceptionally polite, helpful & well trained. Food was excellent evening meal and breakfast. We used the Spa facilities which were as good as any we’ve been to. Will come back when working this way in the next few weeks.

Visited for a two night break , lovely hotel, bar terrace is very nice , room a tad tired but the bed and bathroom were lovely . Spa is very good , take advantage of it if you can . Breakfast lovely no complaints. A tad pricey ? £410 for two nights with breakfast maybe that’s what you pay now . Are in the blue tiger one night all was good , plain but it was tasty. Not a great selection of beers or lager , but it was nice to sample the local brewed stuff .

Perfect spot for a short getaway. Very comfortable and a charming traditional country hotel atmosphere. The food was superb, a real surprise since I hadn't paid attention to that part when booking. The service was the perfect balance of friendly and personal without being too fussy. Spa facilities are the perfect finish to long walk across one of the best part of Dartmoor.

We enjoyed 3 nights, dining in both the restaurant and bar, getting out into Dartmoor in the day, and relaxing in the excellent pool and sauna. Staff were friendly and helpful for example finding a safe place to store our bikes. We rated everything 5star apart from one mild shortfall, the room did not have iPlayer. But it did have that facility to cast from your own device.

Excellent place to stay with lovely, attentive staff. Food was consistently good. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that there was quite a lot of noise from other guests and the soundproofing quality of the rooms was not quite enough for a light sleeper like me

The Ilsington Hotel is a great stay with a lot of charm and character. The landscape and scenery is stunning, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I did feel that the particular room we stayed in wasn't the cleanest and could use a good upgrade, but the owners seem to aim to provide good service, so I wouldn't be surprised to see that taken care of in the future. The Blue Tiger Inn also provided a great experience with tasty food, and the outdoor seating area offered incredible views. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel. It's a good location in the middle of a beautiful area of the country. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, and the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. The village down the road is worth a visit as well. I definitely enjoyed my stay!
