Upstairs is the open plan bedroom, with kingsize bed, original beamed vaulted ceiling, sitting area (sofa bed) and balcony with seating perfect for breakfast and evening drinks, watching the sun go down.This large room has lovely views; Juliet balcony to the front and and patio doors to the rear, opening onto a decked balcony with glass panels and stainless steel handrails, overlooking the walled courtyard garden. The garden has outside furniture, chiminea, a water feature and garden art. Nearby, Bovey Castle in a magnificent setting, has excellent golf, fine dining and bistro. National Trust Castle Drogo is a few miles away and many other attractions and beauty spots are within easy travelling distance. Dartmoor has so much to offer, rugged tors and beautiful landscapes, quaint villages and river walks. There are the famous Dartmoor ponies and Highland cattle grazing with sheep on the open moor, many good pubs as you tour around and tea rooms so you can experience the Devon Cream Tea! Occasionally you can see deer and other wildlife in the paddock opposite. We are surrounded by fields and farm land in a small hamlet, a truly peaceful place yet not far from the village for essentials. The 4* Holiday Cottage surrounded by Dartmoors stunning scenery and only a five minute walk from open moorland, granite tors or the Dart Valley. A traditional Dartmoor pub is within easy walking distance.We are not a traditional farm, we have a breeding herd of Alpacas which graze peacefully in the fields nearby. Robin Cottage may not be what you would expect a Dartmoor cottage to be, The building was constructed in the late 1990’s as a farm building, The buildings were converted into two cottages designed with accessibility in mind. Robin Cottage has a double bedroom, twin room, shower room, lounge and well equipped kitchen. There are French doors onto a large decked area looking over the garden and with stunning views of the surrounding moor and farmland. The cottage sits in a secluded peaceful location next to our fields in which our Alpacas graze. The Deck has a table and chairs ideal for having your breakfast on a sunny morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The Hot Tub is situated in the Garden and is exclusive to Guests from 2pm until 9pmWe have a wide variety of wild birds visiting the bird table in the garden and there are bird books in the cottage to help identify them. Other wildlife can often be seen including foxes, rabbits and a family of stoats.Robin Cottage is comfortable and well equipped, in the double bedroom the Kingsize bed now has a lovely cosy Alpaca Duvet and a memory foam mattress. The twin bedroom has two full size single beds and is spacious with plenty of drawer and hanging spaceThe lounge has a comfy sofa, and two chairs a dining area with table and chairs next to a very well equipped kitchen with Dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, full size oven with ceramic hob, there is a washing line provided in the garden There is heating and a electric woodburner to give a warm glow in the evenings.
