We are long time patrons of the hotel & cottages (over 50 stays). This time we booked a cottage for 3 nights as part of the 125 year celebrations. We were delighted to be upgraded to a sea view - t was beautiful. The cottage was immaculately clean and well set out - as always. Breakfast at The Deck, as part of the package, was superb and the staff were so engaging ,polite and helpful. I asked to change our last morning breakfast to Ren Mor s our time at the The Deck clashed with checking out, This was done and at no extra charge - a gesture we greatly appreciated. Breakfast here was lovely as well. We also had dinner at Ren Mor with relatives. Wow, what a great experience. The food is consistently superb and all locally sourced. a great ethos by the Chefs. Thanks to all for making our stay so wonderful. It is heartening to be recognised as a repeat patron.

We are frequent visitors to The Headland and will base my review on our recent visit. We went this time with a group of University friends from the 1970’s. We arrived and were met by exceptionally friendly staff who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Our room was fabulous with views over Fistral beach and the front of the hotel. We dined in two of their four restaurants both of which were fantastic. RenMor is a fine dining restaurant where we had three meals one of which was a six course tasting menu which was delicious. Congratulations to Gavin and his team for three fabulous meals. We also dined in The Terrace which is less formal giving a variety of more simple meals, burgers, fish and chips. I had the fish pie one night which was delicious. Congratulations to MK and his team for exceptional service and meals. Breakfasts were delicious with an excellent selection of both hot and cold meals. Hot food is ordered and served to the table. All the facilities of the hotel are excellent and are constantly upgraded. We were privileged to see the opening of the refurbished Ballroom. What makes this hotel so good is its staff, they take the hotel to another level of service. It is difficult to pick out exceptional staff as they are all good. However Kai always looks out for us and makes sure all our needs are met and we must give a shout out to Ryan who went out of his way to make sure our dining arrangements were met. Looking forward to our next visit already!

My parents come here every year and I wondered what all the fuss was about….but as soon I I walked through the front door I could see why they love it so much! What a magical place! It really is hard to explain just how beautiful it is. I have never ever been anywhere where the staff as so attentive. A particular thank you to verity and Tyler, they were incredible…so friendly and helpful…a real credit to the hotel! I CANNOT WAIT TO COME BACK!!!!

Having stayed at the Headland on numerous past occasions, we decided to stay for a long weekend as a birthday treat for my wife. Friendly staff, adequate and comfortable room, good shower, and the hotel was obviously full. Breakfast on two of the three mornings was an absolute disaster, lack of items in the buffet room such as bread, pastries, yoghurt, marmalade, compot, Bircher muesli. Long waits for hot drinks, and simple bacon and egg, with incorrect items being delivered. I did speak with restaurant management on Sunday regarding the problems. On the third morning, Monday, the service was a little better, but still slow. During our stay the open air jacuzzi was constantly full with the maximum of eight people, so very difficult to use, during the times we visited. The ballroom was closed for renovations, and the terrace restaurant was also closed in the evening, both discovered after I made my booking In January. I have written to the management detailing the problems, and have been offered a room upgrade on my next stay (if available!). A very poor breakfast and Spa experience at a hotel we have enjoyed in the past, doubt very much we will return.

We decided to book a 2 night stay using the special 125 anniversary offer. It was a wonderful experience from arrival to departure. The ambience and service were impeccable. The room was lovely. The food was delicious. The spas were wonderful. Overall a great experience and we would highly recommend the hotel. Obviously the location is paramount ... Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back.

All winter we have regularly been going to the Veranda restaurant for crab sandwiches which have been delicious and packed full of white crab meat albeit the price has gone up over the last six months they have still been worth it . Today however the crab sandwich was a very poor relation to what we have had previously more like a mixed pate with brown meat and salad vegetables, the sandwich was probably half the thickness to the one we had earlier in the month . Is this the start of the summer trade for visitors no wonder they come once and don’t return complaining of being ripped off . We felt ashamed of the standard offered for a £19 sandwich

This is a very special hotel. It is beautifully decorated, bedroom and bathroom were spotless and very comfortable. We only had breakfast and it was delicious with a huge assortment to suit everyone’s taste. The staff were lovely, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return.

After spending at absolute fortune on cocktails, a spa day and the restaurant, we asked the receptionist to book us a taxi home. She initially didn't listen to how many people we needed a taxi for, so a smaller taxi turned up, then we asked for a bigger taxi to be booked- she asked 'are you even staying here?' To which we replied we weren't. She asked us to take a seat in the bar whilst we waited and she would come and get us when the taxis (2) turned up. Over half an hour passed, then a taxi lady came to get us from the sofa, saying she had been waiting for ages outside. The receptionist had said to the taxi lady- "they're not even staying here". She was so rude and super unhelpful once she knew we weren't staying there, even though we had spent so much money there throughout the day.
