I booked up online although I had to cancel due to a family emergency. I have phoned numerous times, probably double figures and email numerous times. I left so many voicemails and no one responds either by phone or email!! What a way to run a business!!

Our stay didn't start perfectly as the keys were missing from the KeyGuard outside... However using the contact number, Sophie was very helpful in organising someone to come and let us in. The room was comfortable but a little stuffy and airless in the hot weather as the windows only open a crack. However, the air-con helped lessen this problem. Sadly, shop alarms, local rowdies and incredibly noisy gulls kept us awake on both nights. The bed was comfortable but the synthetic pillows were rather lumpy. We could have done with more milk and tea sachets and some coffee pods for the Nespresso machine. The toiletries in the bathroom were good but we struggled to drain the bath after showering. Breakfast was simple but okay, and it would have been much improved with better than dull, white sliced bread. A few parking spaces are available just round the corner, but there were no spaces left for us, so we parked on the street. Overall not a bad stay in a quirky but rather run-down venue.

We loved the room, it was the family room and massive and had air con, it had loads of space and was very quirky and different with the theme wall and very high ceiling, the beds were also very soft large and comfy and the bath was massive. The breakfast was superb and very good value for money and loads of choice and had a vegetarian full english option. We loved it and will definitely stay again

Probably the best value stay in years. Centrally located in the centre of town, so don’t expect tranquility but nothing to disturb your sleep except seagulls. Really pub opposite. Hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly with a wealth of local knowledge. Fabulous breakfast with plenty of choice.

Plug in bath doesn’t fit, toilet doesn’t flush properly light comes on in the middle of the night on its own. Noise from outside at night is atrocious! Bed not very comfortable. Book in with no one there. Several requests for invoice nothing ! Chuffing awful !

The room I stayed in for a week was cozy and decorated in a colorful, quirky style that I really liked. It was clean, the bed was really comfortable, and the room and bathroom were both spacious. There was plenty of cupboard space for my things and an A/C unit that came in really handy, since I'm from a much colder place and not really used to the island weather. Breakfast was excellent, especially the pancakes, and the chef was very friendly. I keep my hotel rooms clean, so I only wanted housekeeping on one day to stock up on toilet paper and empty the trash etc., and service was great. Everyone on staff that I spoke to was very nice. The location was great for me as I was on a work trip, it was close to where I needed to go as well as close to the bus station to get to everything else I wanted to see on the island. Great dinner options were also practically everywhere nearby, a shop for all the basics was a two minute walk away, and the church right there on the square is definitely worth a visit. Some reviewers mentioned noise on the square at night, but I didn't find this to be a problem even though there were people spending time outside especially on Friday night, the noise didn't carry all that much. The only thing I would have wanted in the room is a small fridge of some kind to have some cold drinks on hand, but it's not like my trip was ruined due to a lack of that as the shop was so close. If you want to stay in a 5 star hotel with someone at your beck and call at all times this is not the place for you, but if you want a clean, hassle-free, nicely located place to sleep in on your island visit, I really do recommend this place. I have nothing bad to say about my stay and will not hesitate to book a room again if I visit the island.

We had booked in to attend a wedding. The only benefit was we were next door to the church ! Breakfast- the first 2 days were fine. Friendly lady, baked croissants. The other 2 days, pre-packaged croissants and microwaved full English and not do friendly staff. Room - first impression looks good, but surfaces and bathroom floor not clean. Bath taps need attention. 2 bath towels and I hand towel. No bathmat. Pillows completely flat! Air con needs a good clean!! Parking interesting. 4 spaces on first come first served basis, but booking available. But if you haven’t booked and park, it’s luck! £10 per day and no parking control or supervision. Didn’t even want reg number…! We were lucky to get a space each day. The lady running the place needs to get some customer service training. So rude. 3 girls near us at breakfast asked her a question and got short shrift. They were stunned at her attitude. Looks great in the photos but Would not recommend.

This is more like an air bnb than a hotel. Saw online that the restaurant had closed during the week so tried to contact them as concerned about the stay. No reply to the phone calls or messages. *********** couldn't get hold of them either. It's remote check in with a series of lock boxes. Nobody on site. There was a pile of picket fencing at the bottom of the stairs, partially blocking the stairway. I assume this was to do with outside seating and should not be stacked up where it was. The heating in the room wasn't working and there was a small oil filled radiator in the room, so they must have been aware. The bed is just a double, despite the size of the room. The bedroom has an internal firedoor that is very difficult to open and close due to the carpet, so two fire safety issues. The underfloor heating in the bathroom doesn't appear to work, despite us trying repeatedly to understand the instructions, and of course there is nobody in the building to help. Single glazed windows, one has a broken pane of glass and a broken latch, so was open. It was cold in the room. Tiny mirror in the bathroom and no where to do makeup, which matters in a place you are staying. Went to breakfast in the morning to find the 2 members of staff hudled in the corner in their coats on as it was so cold in the dining room, they told us "it takes ages to warm up". We went for breakfast at 9.40, it finishes at 10. Breakfast was nice enough and the member of staff who served us friendly. The bath was large, which is good. The shower so heavily scaled the water went everywhere, which wasn't. It was so bad my partner tried to scrape it off. There was a broken tile on the floor in the bathroom which was sharp and dangerous and should be replaced. There is a real sense that someone invested in the building initially but not maintained it, doesn't want to pay staff to be at the building and doesn't care if things are broken. There was a fan in the room so I'm guessing that the air conditioning/heating system has not worked since the summer. Overall very disappointed.

Room would have been wonderful otherwise, but there was quite a strong pungend smell of mold/mildew in the bathroom. Luckily it stays there if the door is closed, so we got a good sleep and it didn't ruin our stay. The breakfast saved the experience. The chef really delivered, wow! Also, the church next door practices their bell-ringing on Monday evenings quite late. Banging goes on for couple of hours, which could be quite annoying. But that is the price of being right smack in the center of the city!
