Travelodge Newport Isle of Wight

The room was ok, but some of the area was not really clean. Breakfast included with traditional English breakfast. Overall was alright.

My wife and I with my 2 kids came to stay at Isle Of Wight Newport Hotel as my kids were off and we were celebrating 9th Wedding anniversary. It was one of the best stays ever. I used to work with Hilton and stayed with multiple Hiltons in London and throughout the UK but I must stay this particular Travelodge is no less than any 4 star Hiltons. The Team at the hotel is amazing. all of them are a real gem. on our 1st night (16th April), we checked in very late and was told that the breakfast will be served till 1030 hrs, so when we cam in next morning around 1010 hrs, the breakfast was already closed but the Manager Sean was there, he opened the breakfast specially for us and Doreen assisted him in opening the breakfast and very politely served us with the full beakfast. Doreen is a real asset to your hotel. She was having a nice chat with us and my kids which was lovely. I asked Chrissy at the reception next day that I wanted to surprise my wife for our wedding anniversary next day (18th April), so she suggested something to decorate the room. We went out the next day and when came back, the room was beutifully decorated with Swans, Petals, Roses and a cake which my wife really appreciated and kids enjoyed as well. Thanks very much to Tash and Kieran who did all this to decorate the room. All in all our experience was lovely so I really want to thank the whole team at the Newport Isle of Wight Travel Lodge to make our stay enjoyable.

This hotel was booked by work, with it being a travelodge i didn't expect much. The rooms were dated and could do with a refurb and tidy up. There were stains/burn marks on the carpet and walls. Bed was comfy, and I had a good weeks sleep, i didn't get disturbed by noise or banging doors. I was disappointed with cleaning. I put the top up my room tag on my door for room to be cleaned and topped up with fresh towels. The clearners must have been of that week, I had to go to reception with my dirty towels and replace them with clean. Reception staff we're lovely and apologised for the cleaners not doing her duties. The night duties receptionist Chrissy was lovely and very helpful during our stay. The full English breakfast was lovely. You need fried eggs adding to the menu. The cereal on the other hand was stale and there was not much choice for continental breakfast and the fruit looked a tad rotten.

While the room especially the washroom have started showing their age, the staff at the kitchen and the reception are exceptional. Especially Doreen and team from the breakfast team were amazing, thank you. The team at the reception were good as well.

Great location .All rooms were clean and staff were very attentive and friendly. The only downside is that it was a bit too noisy but then again it is half term. Also bathrooms could use some diy.Would definitely revisit on our next visit to the island .

Will look for something else next time. £75 to stay here was ridiculous, they should charge the Sunday rate all week - £33. Mattresses are awful, towels smell and just basically needs an upgrade, can't have been updated for at least 40 years. Awful
