WoodSpring Suites Newington - Hartford South

If you’re not a fan of sleeping, then this is the place for you. We unfortunately read the reviews for this hotel after we booked it. We thought it couldn’t possibly be as bad as the reviews said it was. We were wrong. We came to Hartford for my son’s graduation from Trinity College and stayed here for two nights. They were the longest two nights of my life. There is no carpet in this hotel which contributes to the fact that you can hear every single thing that just about everyone within a ten room radius is doing. The people in the room above us were either bowling or racing horses until 3:00 am. Then, at around 5:00 am the babies started crying. We didn’t sleep a wink ALL NIGHT. The hotel was filled with people that appeared to live there and walked around the hotel in various states of undress like it was their living room. As we drove up at about 9 pm, we saw about ten 20something year old men loitering around the parking lot. Two of them were playing soccer and hitting cars with the ball. As we entered the lobby, there were children in pajamas sitting playing video games. The gal who I assume was the manager (or night clerk) was sitting there with them. She was nice enough, but the whole place just had a bad vibe. As we walked to the elevator, it smelled heavily of ****. There was a gal in her pajamas sitting on the luggage cart talking on the phone, and a guy sitting in the stairwell playing on his phone. As I said, these people looked like they have been there for quite some time. The room was okay, just extremely sparse. There was not one spoon, fork, pan, dish, or skillet, despite having a kitchenette. There was salsa music blaring from our neighbors room and the hall smelled like someone was cooking tacos. We just wanted to go to sleep but couldn’t due to the constant yelling, doors slamming, children crying, or what sounded like golf balls bouncing across the floor above us. Tried to get wash cloths for two days. Were told they were in the dryer. Asked again, told they weren’t done. Said they’d be delivered and weren’t. Room was never cleaned, but didn’t expect it would be. What should have been a nice weekend was spent sleep deprived and trying to fill our time so we didn’t have to return to the hotel. If you don’t mind transient people loitering around the outside and inside of the hotel all day and night, don’t care much for sleeping, and need absolutely NO amenities, then this is the place for you. General Manager Has A Attitude Problem And Was Very Rude To A Lady Name Lisa At The Desk my room was filthy and not to anyone true standard travelers inn is better far as cleanliness.. worse hotel in new england shut it down. Then we had some snow and the guy at night was out there shoveling for us

Although we were only there for one night there was no hand soap, only face and body soap for shower. No paper towels for kitchen area and unfortunately our tv did turn on but there was absolutely no volume no matter what we tried.
