Cute little room

Just back from 2 nights staying here with a friend. We got a good price on a twin room and reason I chose it was good central location and car park. The car park was a hit for me, as not many hotels have a car park. Good hotel if visiting for Alton towers, which we were, only a 30-40 min drive away! After driving over 250miles from edinburgh, we arrived around 7pm to a VERY busy carpark due to hotel hosting a function. Obviously I wasn't happy with this as I'd booked this hotel especially for it's carpark! Check in was with Keiran - he was very pleasant and informative. Checkin was smooth, but did highlight there was no spaces and 2 cars has parked irresponsibly taking up 4 spaces for 2 cars!! Manager, Mr Shakes very kindly offered his space for me as he was familiar with area - very much appreciated 👏 Our twin room was in the separate annexe building which I was pleased with and it overlooked the carpark. Room very big and spacious. A little dated with an iron burn on the carpet. Toilet seat and toilet roll holder loose, however it done the job for the 2 night stay. Decent powerful shower and plenty towels and extra pillow:) 1st night did not sleep great as was woken at 3AM with drunk men carrying on in the carpark. Closed our windows to block out noise,but unfortunately they were in the room next to ours. They continued to shout, laugh, carry on amd bang doors until judt after4am then decided to go to bed. Complained at checkout to be advised by kieran (again) that they had had a lot of complaints due to these men, and that they were part of the function party. Absolute joke- grown men going on like little boys and inconsiderate of other 'sleeping' guests. This happened on the friday into Saturday so I was a little worried about the saturday into Sunday evening, as the hotel is very centrally located to pubs and restuarants - however Saturday evening I managed to get a good night's sleep. Bed very comfy, just the heat was an issue as hotel has no air conditioning and it was a HOT HOT day. Hotel offers a breakfast from £9.50, however it was a minute walk to wetherspoons so we went there. Chinese takeaways, chippy and convenience store all a 5minute walk away also. If I were visiting alton towers again, I probably would book this hotel again.

We booked the Borough Arms for a 50th wedding Anniversary meal and celebration. We cannot compliment the management and waiting on staff enough for making it a very special evening. The food quality was excellent ,surroundings wonderful all delivered in a caring thoughtful manner. Well done the Borough Arms Hotel .
