We chose to stay as it was very good value for a room and a meal deal offer. Previous Premier Inn experiences have been good but this location is very tired and needs a complete renovation. We had two rooms on the first floor that were both very cold. Despite following the provided instructions the rooms were too slow to warm as the electric radiators were ineffective. The rooms were also very dimly lit and sparsely furnished making them uninviting. Both rooms were also in poor state of decoration with grubby walls and carpets with marks and stains. The bathrooms were clearly very old. The biggest issue is the lack of effective sound proofing with the windows and it is a noisy area at nighttime. Not pleasant and will definitely not be going back.

Room was a little dated, the main light didn’t work and room didn’t feel too clean. Bed was comfy however and sheets were clean. Didn’t look like the photos when we booked it but we didn’t expect much for the cheap price we paid so it’s not too much of a big deal.

Cold room, small oil filled portable radiator to try and put a bit of warmth in the air. Outdated decor and well worn. Had the meal deal as part of the booking and food was good, excellent breakfast and great service. Good location on Quayside, with lots to do with In walking distance.

Have spend Friday night at this premier inn, It was a great hotel ( does need a bit work doing, but to be expected as it's an old hotel with lots of original features ) In a great location, close to everything you need, with a great view, the staff were very friendly and curtious, nothing was to much trouble. We had breakfast In the money which was great value for money, would definitely stay there again, we have a great night away

I don't have anything good to say about my stay at this hotel. I'm not going to waste my time listing all the things that this hotel fails at providing. There were no positives to my stay. Read the previous reviews. I particularly liked what MrsR45 had to say. No point in me writing all the same things again. When the same issues are coming up month after month and not being addressed by the hotel, it's a red flag. I wish I had read these reviews before I booked to stay at this hotel. If you stay here after reading the reviews, don't say you weren't warned!

Rooms are a bit dated and scuffed up. But what makes the place are the staff. Big shout out to Steve who helped me through a difficult situation with luggage. And all the other smiling, polite and friendly men and women I encountered throughout the 5 nighys i stayed.

Quayside was the choice as it was the closest Premier Inn to the station but also boasted the riverside location and was housed in what appeared to be a lovely old building. It's not often I go for former Premier Lodge hotels. The hotel was easy to find and we were given a massive room with a view looking onto the Tyne and bridge which I had requested by Email. The hotel had Emailed me to say there was building works going on and the building would be covered in scaffolding however there was nothing of the kind here! The building has a beautiful staircase with tiles and stained glass windows, just a pity the cornicing is hidden by fake ceilings and i imagine the interiors were once lined with wooden panelling. Noise was an issue and that wasn't just from the heater in the room which would start shaking and squeaking ever few minutes which wasn't great for sleeping next to. Also on Saturday morning somebody kindly set off fireworks right outside the hotel! Staff were very friendly and quite plentiful I will chose this hotel again next time I visit Newcastle.

The location is excellent for nightlife etc, but that's as good as it gets. Our room was damp and smelt upon entry. We opened windows to get some fresh air in. The worst thing was the mattress heavily stained and frankly only fit for the skip. I took some photos shown below make your own mind up. We complained and it was inferred you have a mattress protector and sheet on and it's only water stains. They couldn't change mattress. The company makes a selling point of the mattress giving you a good night's sleep, not being a health hazard. Can't believe staff who make beds daily think this is acceptable for paying guests to sleep on this and not report it. We won't be back
