Super 8 by Wyndham Newcastle

I have stayed at this property many times over the years and it definitely was not kept up to industry standards. I was happy to see it had been purchased by Wyndam/Super 8 hoping that had done a big remodel of the rooms. My room definitely had been upgraded in some respects, but there is still a lot of work to be done. Toilet seat didn't fit properly and moved around, caulking around the tub and flooring needs redone, couldn't get any hot water for a shower, found several things that were not cleaned properly, needed directions on how to operate the TV system, etc. Hoping improvements will continue.

I’ve not ever stayed here before, I’m glad I was able to get a large sized room. Construction was happening but that didn’t disturb our stay.

Bathtub/shower floor very slippery.. a danger for older guests especially … maybe have a non slip bath mat available in room for use.

First room was slept in and still dirty with dirty towels on shower floor and smelled terrible. Second room was clean but old and needs updating.

Reasonable facility, tv, fridge, microwave plugged into an extension that was too short so it all hung from the outlet, a little unsafe. The shower head moved around in the wall. But the beds were ok.

I would recommend this hotel. They are doing some rejuvenating on the outside, but the rooms are clean and spacious. Continental breakfast is a plus.
