I'm really disappointed with this hotel's management. I've been a Diamond and heavy business traveler for 20+ years and have literally spent more than 8 years of my life in hotels. My flights to head to the area for a week-long business trip from Georgia on 8/5/24 were canceled due to Hurricane Debby. As typical in this situation, I called the hotel directly to let them know of the situation and that I wouldn't be there for my one-night stay. The associate I talked to said she'd take care of it. A few days later, I was charged for the cancellation. To be clear, I was past the one-day cancellation deadline when I called after my flights were canceled, but I was under the impression that they would cancel without penalty, given the situation. Over 20+ years, situations like this have occurred probably once a year, and I've never once been charged for circumstances clearly outside my control. I called the hotel again, asking for the manager so I could explain my conversation with the front desk representative on 8/5 and ask if they really intended to charge me. I was told the manager would call me back two days later. I never was contacted.
