Had a wonderful stay here for a couple of nights. Overall the hotel has a really relaxing, welcoming atmosphere, everyone we met was really kind and helpful. The room was well equipped, everything available so you don't need to ask (sewing kit, iron, hairdryer, cotton wool balls and buds). Comfy bed, plenty of tea and coffee and a biscuit jar. Ate in at the hotel both nights and the food was incredible. There's a huge menu to choose from for all dietary needs, and all made on site with proper ingredients, often from their own gardens. The pies were gorgeous and the chips were some of the best I've had. The fruit crumble was cooked from scratch and was delicious with the clotted cream ice cream. Again, a huge breakfast menu, even for vegetarians and vegans. I particularly enjoyed the eggy bread , and the toast and home made marmalade. Overall, for me the Beaumond Cross Inn represents the best of independent hotels. A really friendly, welcoming experience with everything taken care of so that I could focus on the work that I'd travelled over to do. Will visit again without hesitation.

Very nice family run hotel. Made to feel very welcome on arrival. Great that we could get a meal even arriving late in the evening. Allowed us to leave our car in the car park while attending a nearby wedding. Although the evening meal was nice we felt that it was overpriced at £19.50 for pie, with potatoes and veg. Would stay again but eat out.

Booked 2 night stay direct with the hotel as free parking, £5 per night if booked through other hotel websites. We wanted a hotel close to the centre of Newark on T and this was perfect. Could walk everywhere in the town easily. A warm welcome from Carol who allowed early check in to our room. Lovely room with all facilities and very env conscious and clean. Ate in the pub one night and each ordered a Cavalier pie dinner. First to arrive two steaming large jugs of gravy, then a lamb and mint pie and a beef red wine. Bowl of honey roast mixed root veg and one of broccoli/mixed greens plus a large one of chips. All hot food, delicious, we couldn’t quite finish. We met Paul the chef and Agnes the housekeeper, both very friendly and helpful. This is a family run business and much better than a chain hotel experience.

Very welcoming (including from the cute resident doggy!) and friendly pub stay with car park on site and within easy reach of the town and as a bonus handy for an impromptu cinema visit. The room was quite small (not unexpected in an older property) but had everything needed for a comfortable stay. We did not have any meals but the food being served at dinner and breakfast smelt and looked delicious!

Arrived to the location with high expectations based on written reviews found online, but left feeling incredibly disappointed, especially considering you are spending almost £10 per head above the average price for a roast dinner on a Sunday. Upon arrival, we were told there was no roast available – no beef as stated on the menu, but also no alternative (turkey, ham, pork) only offered a beef pie, belly pork or lamb shank, which is not a roast dinner by any stretch of the imagination. We are not afraid to pay a premium for certain restaurants, when the food is worth it, however this was, by no means, worth even a fraction of the price charged. The sides were brought out around 40 minutes after ordering, chopped up vegetable medley served in cold serving dishes, along with oily and not crispy whatsoever roast vegetables and potatoes, all lukewarm in temperature. Minutes later, we were then served the main dishes, all of which were below a standard temperature, again served on cold plates, and considerably lacking in quality to justify the price point advertised. Also, to call the blinis arriving that were described as "Yorkshire Puddings" seemed almost offensive. It's a rare occasion for us to go out for Sunday Lunch, but with already being aware of the £27.50 price tag for a roast dinner, to be told there wasn’t even an option of a Sunday Roast was incredibly disappointing, especially with the price and reviews indicating something of much better quality. The place lacked atmosphere, just background noise of a radio playing in another room, presumably for staff, and pretty much empty the whole time we were there, somewhat understandably.

If one word could summarize the Beaumont Cross Inn, it would be "homely". We really enjoyed our stay and we slept well. Breakfast is amazing with a 4-page menu providing many options. If you like locally-sourced sausages, you can't get more local than homemade; they were delicious and highly recommended. The beer is good. The expectation of run-of-the-mill CO2-drawn beers was surpassed by hand-pulled real ale. This hotel is run well with sustainability in mind. Hospitality is great. If we were to stop over in Newark in the future, would we return to the Beaumont Cross Inn? Absolutely!

Amazing food and everything is homemade. Staff lovely (family run) and passionate about their business. Took family as we had eaten there before and they were so impressed with the food. A big thumbs up from us all and we will definitely be going back when they visit again.

Excellent. Very clean and attractively decorated to a high standard two bedroomed cottage with effective double glazing 1 bedroom facing street. Good situation to walk to river/around town. We had a very good dinner and one morning we had a variety of the cooked breakfast and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. A delightful place to stay
