Hampton Inn & Suites New Orleans Canal St. French Quarter

Good for what it is, close enough but not in the heart of things. Room was small but serviceable. Place was under construction when I stayed.

When arriving, our room had holes in the carpet, ripped bedding, the toilet didn’t work, and it smelled like ****. We made the front desk aware and they were very nice and accommodating. They moved us to a new room and it was great! Walking to the French quarter wasn’t too bad but a little further than I would have liked. Overall it was pretty good hotel. Not sure I would stay here again though.

The hotel is cute, it’s just you get what you pay. The location is near Bourbon Street, so that’s a Bonus. I love the decoration from the room, but the hallways smells kinda weird. and the parking lot next to it is really safe (Tulane Parking). For a cute, cheap, and near location I will recommend it.

Cute decor but: No concessions. Customer service seemed friendly, but our room issues were never addressed as promised. Cleanliness wasn't horrible, but obviously lacked attention to detail. They seemed to be way understaffed which is most likely the underlying cause for all of the issues listed above. For the price, you will expect way better than you will receive. (Room air didn't work... Remote control was missing... No Telephone in the room... Calls to the front desk via cell=no answer/had to physically go to the front desk to report our toilet wouldn't flush. Carpets are dirty everywhere/doesn't smell very good...)

Family Reunion Inspection I blocked rooms for my family reunion back in August 2024. Family members had concerns about the Google reviews, so I made a special trip to New Orleans to inspect the hotel and see what was really going on at this location. Upon entry there was a sewer smell, nothing unbearable but noticeable. Approached the check in desk and was greeted properly with friendly and helpful customer service. The King rooms are not spacious but the bed is huge and comfortable. No issues with cleanliness! Both elevators were working and noticed no service issues with them. The parking wasn’t the best but I suggest parking across the street rather behind the building if you will be using your own vehicle throughout the day. Security presence was seen at 9pm and upon check out at 10am the following day, so I detected no immediate security concerns but with anything always be aware of your surroundings and able to identify a threat! Overall I have no complaints and look forward to going back in July to enjoy with my entire family. I’m really big on reviews and I’m not one to usually stay at a 3 star hotel. We gave our group options with a 3 & 4 star , let’s just say I’ve changed my reservation over to the 3 star!
