La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham New Orleans Downtown

The location is very close to city center. The room is very quiet. However, the breakfast is too simple.

Had a few issues w/ hotel and our room. Workers were literally right outside our room window, on a scaffolding, drilling and pounding at 7am every weekday morning. It appears that they’re renovating the exterior. Front desk would not accommodate my request for a room transfer. No sleeping in for us! At least we were able to make the 7-9am breakfast window. Only to discover a couple items on the spread. One morning we were actually able to get eggs and fruit. Another morning, sausage was the only item available. WiFi is non-existent in this hotel. If you absolutely need it, look elsewhere. Upon arrival the room a/c was not functioning. A maintenance worker fixed the issue however, the heat function no longer worked. Temps fluctuated from 40-80 outside making the situation less than ideal. The only waste receptacle in our room was a small bathroom trash bin. You could image the overflow after 5 days w/ no housekeeping. Overall the staff was very friendly and courteous. So long as you didn’t have any requests or bring any issues to their attention. If I had to do over, I would have not booked this hotel. If your room is on the 14th floor, RUN!

On arrival we were told that the suite we booked and PREPAID for was not available as the facility was undergoing construction and had been sold out by a 3rd party (which I assume is Trip.com). We were then instructed that we could receive a full refund and have to go elsewhere to find accommodations or could be moved to another room. The room was not a suite but did have a king bed so we accepted. There was no security lock on the door as it was broken off and the carpet was stained and dirty. There was hardly any water pressure in the sink. Will not stay here again.
