The Olivier House Hotel

Lovely place to stay. We had a little loft room with a balcony and chandelier. Very romantic!

One of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I stay at a lot of hotels. The architecture is gorgeous. The room was cozy. The pool was like a secret paradise. The staff was absolutely amazing. Kind. Generous. Accommodating. Friendly. Every night we came in a bit drunk. The night shift guy welcomed us back, and serenaded us with his original songs, and an absolutely angelic voice. There are 3 lovely cats here. If you don’t like cats, beat it. Because this is their home, and they were here before you. They’re so sweet, and so cute. I snuggled on them everyday, and couldn’t not pet them every time I walked by. They have a coffee area, with water, and oranges. But you can get breakfast at the cafe across the street. The Dungeon is nearby as well as Unique Tours. Maybe a block from bourbon st, and just a few blocks from the market, and square. Definitely book here for a unique, and lovely experience. Step to the side on stairs to let the ghosts walk by, be polite, and check out the elevator.

We stayed at the Olivier Hotel on a Wednesday night during a road trip, and I’m so glad we found this gem. My boyfriend booked it mainly because it looked cool and different, and it definitely was, in the best way! The room was clean, neat, and very comfortable. What made this place stand out, though, were the little unexpected touches: the quirky charm, the friendly staff, the cozy coffee bar in the lobby, and the beautiful old elevator that gives it so much character. What really surprised (and delighted) us was discovering that the hotel is known for its ******* history, and that it has resident cats! We weren’t expecting that at all, but the three cats were incredibly sweet and friendly. Their presence added to the hotel’s unique and welcoming vibe. Even the ghost stories gave the stay a fun, historic feel without being creepy. This hotel felt like a refreshing change from the usual chain experience, it has personality, warmth, and a real New Orleans spirit. If you’re looking for a boutique stay with charm and surprises around every corner, I’d absolutely recommend the Olivier Hotel. We genuinely enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

We just checked out from our stay in the Olivier house. We would definitely go back! The hotel is an old restored mansion one street away from Bourbon Street. The the building is very well preserved with wonderful courtyards, architecture, and even a pool. That said, you need to realize you are in the Bourbon Street area so if you’re looking for a quiet night sleep, do not book a room with a balcony on Toulouse Street. We did so purposefully knowing it could be noisy. It was! Each night there were cars going by with extremely loud music and the bass turned up. We stayed in the room with a balcony and loft and loved the size. We also loved having a seating area, two bathrooms, and the small kitchenette area with a sink, fridge, and microwave. The air-conditioning worked well, but we did need the fan that they had for us up in the loft. Everyone at the front desk was very helpful. They had great suggestions for restaurants and also booked a very early car to pick us up for the airport. We enjoyed meeting the hotel’s three resident cats - sooo cute! We also enjoyed the complimentary coffee, fruit, water, and snacks available in the parlor off the lobby. There is a very small elevator, otherwise there are stairs to climb for the upper floors. There are many bars and restaurants within walking distance as well as some shops.

There is nothing like finding a hotel that feels authinticly like the place you are visiting. The Olivier House is all that and more. Staying there made our time in New Orleans all the more special. We loved it. Great staff, clean and well appointed rooms, and the whole place feels like stepping back in time in to old New Orleans. If you want to experience New Orleans in the right way, this is the place.

My kids always stay here when in NOLA, but it was first time for wife and I. We loved the quaint old World charm. We were in room 212 which overlooked the pool in the courtyard. The whole place seemed special and added to our experience . Highly recommend. Will be back
