The Marriott Hotel on Canal St was such a convenient location for walking to the major tourist attractions…Bourbon Street, St. Louis Cathedral, the Ferries and paddlewheel boats. I enjoyed my stay and the hotel front desk and concierge service was so helpful to ensure that i knew how to get to my destinations. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We chose this hotel because of its location. We were there for the second weekend of the jazz festival and the hotel met our needs. The bus stop was only a couple of blocks away and the room was clean. I wish I didn't have to request water every day because it should be standard and the hotel bar could have been nicer/cleaner but if you're eating and drinking at the hotel bar in NOLA you missed the point.

The location of this hotel is premium. However, there are other hotels near this location, and I would strongly suggest you explore them before booking with this Marriott. Of course parking in NOLA is a nightmare, but if you've been there before you should already know that so paying for valet service was not a surprise or a problem but at $52 a day do you have to add tax and some other extra fee as well? Then, there was the subpar young African American lady in the window of the valet service. She was rude on her phone and had no customer service skills at all. Then there was Fred the bell hop. One of his co-workers told us that if we needed change, one of them could help us out. When we went to their desk to ask for change, before we could get the full sentence out of our mouths, he barked WHAT KINDA CHANGE? He was just rude for no reason, which is totally unacceptable for me. The gentleman who checked us in was pleasant. The room and bathroom were small, the carpet smelled, and it should be replaced. There was a dirty washcloth left in the shower from the previous guests (I suppose). Pretty much the location is the only plus for this hotel. There is a bar, you can order food there as well. There is a restaurant in the hotel and an overpriced pantry that sells snacks.
