My wife and I were married at the hotel so decided to celebrate our anniversary with another stay. We were upgraded to a garden room (number92) which was superb - very large living room with TV etc, outside table and garden with its own gate, and upstairs a giant Alaskan king size bed, separate shower as well as a bath and outside balcony with table and chairs. We had stayed in a Tree House on our honey moon and we felt the garden room was very comparable and far less cost with only the hot tub missing. We dined in the main restaurant and my wife asked for a baked salmon (which was not on the menu but they accommodated her) and I had the Dover sole on the bone and enjoyed our server dissecting the bone out at our table. The dinner was delicious as well as our breakfast next day. All the staff were very attentive and we had a wonderful celebration of our anniversary.

Treated to a 2 night stay for my birthday, and we had the best time. Arrived at 1pm, had a light lunch in The Pool Bar, and was able to get into our suite at 2pm which was a nice touch. Beautiful room, lovely little touches and very clean. I didn’t want to leave the room! Used the spa pools and had a fabulous massage in the afternoon - a lovely way to unwind. Superb meal in The Dining Room, very attentive staff, excellent sommelier helped us choose a nice Italian red to go with our T Bone which was cooked to perfection. No complaints at all. Breakfast was plentiful, no request too big! Enjoyed both the continental and the cooked. We grabbed an estate map and enjoyed an albeit windy walk around the grounds and down to the beach to walk it all off! We decided to try The Kitchen for Saturdays meal, loved the buggy ride to the restaurant, again a nice touch even though it’s a pleasant walk along the drive. Unfortunately I became unwell during the meal and had to leave quite quickly without eating my main meal. So I guess we’ll have to return another day! I must thank the staff for their help during this unfortunate situation, they were very kind. Luckily I was okay Sunday morning to enjoy the par 3 golf course - a tricky little course but we had it to ourselves so could take our time which was needed as we’re a bit rusty! All in all we had the best time here at Chewton Glen and hope that we can return again soon, even if it’s only to visit The Kitchen.

Still on cloud nine after returning from an overnight stay at this beautiful country house hotel. My partner and I have dined at the Chewton Glen on a few occasions and have always received warm and personal service from the extremely professional staff, so naturally it was top of my list when my partner wanted to treat me to an overnight stay for my recent 50th birthday. Whether it was the moment we pulled up outside, being warmly greeted at reception, enjoying a delicious lunch on the terrace or relaxing in the wonderful pool and spa area, every member of staff we encountered was so friendly and welcoming. Our room was beautiful, an enormous comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom and a balcony overlooking some trees it made for a perfect backdrop to a wonderful weekend. The attention to detail, like organising flowers and chocolates to be in our room and a birthday card from the hotel, are really lovely touches that make the Chewton Glen feel like a home from home. Everything is taken care of, leaving you free to really relax and enjoy yourself. Dinner, as ever, was exceptional and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We couldn't fault anything and are already planning our next stay for our anniversary. Thank you, Chewton Glen, for making my 50th so special.

I visit Chewton Glen often and always enjoy the beautiful setting. Today I visited once again with a friend. The tea and sandwiches were lovely. The only disappointment was dessert. Despite explaining my nut and seed intolerances, it arrived with seeded fruits. It was kindly taken off the bill, but nothing offered in its place, which left the experience feeling a little unfinished. Hopefully next time, there’ll be an alternative, as everything else was so lovely.

From the moment we drove up to the moment we left this was a 5* experience. We couldn’t go to our usual place so booked Chewton instead and so pleased we did. Everything was exceptional and everyone couldn’t do more for us. The valet was brilliant both when we arrived and left, putting our bags in the car and sourcing items like bikes, beach equipment and more. Reception really looked after my friend who needed help storing breast milk. This made a potential stressful situation easy and relaxed. Cocktails were exquisite and we tried many. Room was fantastic. Exceeded expectations and we had completely snacks and bottle of champagne. The terrace was sunny and comfy. Pool service and wait staff were always on hand and couldn’t have done more. Dinner was exceptional. We had the T-bone steak. The wine with dinner wasn’t great to be fair. That was probably the worst thing along side coffee taking a really really really long time at breakfast. At breakfast the Bloody Mary was bloody outstanding! The barman had been juicing tomatoes the night before. We used the spa facilities and the pool. Walked round the estate. Had lunch. Cannot recommend this place as a wonderful night away enough.

I stayed at Chewton Glen for three nights this August in an estate room. I had a long wait to check in but the staff were apologetic and the hotel is beautiful. On my first night there was a continuous hum in the room which kept me awake. Then my room service breakfast was delivered an hour late with no cutlery or condiments. I fed this back to reception and they moved me to a better estate room where at last I had peaceful nights. Sadly as a solo traveller I often find myself put in an inferior room where I guess they think that just one person has lesser needs. The bathroom still had flaws such as taps that took forever to produce water, a sink plug hole stuck on closed and a shower tray that didn’t drain very well - but I didn’t want to complain again. Breakfast on day 2 had a long wait to be seated, no crusty bread left and several fruit juices empty. But the cooked offering was very good. Sadly the food at The Kitchen was extremely disappointing and their crispy squid was the worst I’ve ever eaten. So I only chose to eat there once. It’s such a shame as the place has so much potential to be awesome. The staff are lovely and the spa treatments were very good. But it’s not the top tier experience I expected when spending £2k.
