The pub is in a lovely riverside location in a pretty hamlet., just off long-distance footpaths. The location is quiet, but it's within easy reach of lots of things to see and do: there are several superb gardens open to the public, and beautiful coastal scenery on the Rhins of Galloway. It is in immaculate condition after renovation and re-opening a couple of years ago (a community project, with some of the funding from wind farm companies). Chris's food is innovative and ranges from pub grub to taster-menu gastronomy. The staff are welcoming and helpful.

A short overnight stay on our way to Cairnryan ferry. We arrived quite late but the kitchen was still available for dinner and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room was impeccable. We had to leave early for our crossing but the short stay was great. We want to come back.

Although a little out the way Kenmuir Arms is well worth a visit. We arrived to a warm welcome. The hotel only has 3 rooms but ours was spacious very clean and was beautifully decorated looking out over the river and bridge. The sug is definitely Snug but had great atmosphere. We enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu which was an amazing experience. Locally sourced and well presented delicious food by chef Douggan. It was not rushed as some tasting menus are. Definitely will go back to try other food on menu such as Sunday roast.

Oh my, what a hidden gem. We dining at this restaurant last night and had the most amazing evening. We walked in from the road and were immediately impressed. All of the food being served looked delicious but we chose the tasting menu which was incredible. The staff were so friendly and accommodating we have decided to going back tonight for a Sunday roast. If you are in the area please try and visit as you will not be disappointed.

A beautiful hotel in stunning surroundings. The food is amazing and the service is second to none. The rooms were very clean, well presented with everything that we could have wanted ( including coffee machine with a variety of coffee pods). The bathroom and large shower were fully stocked with amazing Scottish hair and body products. Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.

The staff and ownership were amazing. We checked in very late but were warmly greeted. They even made sure I could have a late beer and scotch. Food was fantastic! World traveled owner/chef very involved in our comfort and experience. Best haggis I have ever had. Breakfast was splendid!

First time visit for my wife and I, and it was worth it, the hotel is spotless and very well decorated, the views from the restaurant are wonderful. The food was amazing and expertly cooked by Christopher, the staff are very attentive, we even had a tour of the rooms which are an extremely high standard and like the rest of the hotel very tastefully decorated. well worth a visit and we will be back.

Starters were nice but not really worth £12. Main courses at £20+ were not! Fish and chips average and arrived in paper. Supposed to be authentic or clever perhaps 🥴 ..my husband had Hake which was priced at £22.. Inedible due to extreme salt content, and he left it. Complained (as diplomatically as possible) and they offered free deserts but we had waited so long for the main, we declined. They only took the price of a G&T of the bill and still had to pay the full amount for the salty hake! Waitress (at bar) had loud conversation with a patron (the only other customer in the snug bar) about school toilets and weddings, which made our evening quite unpleasant.
