Idyllic Location: Situated in a charming rural village by a river, the hotel provided a tranquil and scenic environment. Guests appreciated the peaceful setting, access to local walks, and proximity to attractions like the Cairnryan ferry terminal.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Good food, huge portions, pretty setting. I popped into the Kenmuir Arms for lunch while walking the Southern Upland Way. It had been a particularly hot and sweaty morning, but I was welcomed in so brilliantly by the staff there. It’s an ideal place for a leisurely lunch, whether you’re walking the way or not. Lots of lovely, and interesting, food; it’s got a pretty and quiet garden to wile away the hours.

I stayed solo for one night in June. Lovely riverside location. Limited street parking or nearby community car park. Friendly and efficient staff throughout. Clearly the complete building has recently been refurbished to a very high standard. My twin bedroom was comfortable, well equipped with the bonus of a Nespresso machine. Top quality linen & towels. The only drawback was that the twin beds were of the absolute minimum size for an averagely sized adult. Really good shower pressure, with no pump noise. The room overlooked the Main Street, but there was little evening and early morning traffic, so no disturbance even with the window open. The bar area was very convivial. Having read the rave restaurant reviews I was somewhat disappointed with my fish and chip dinner, which was distinctly average, albeit at a distinctly average price. By direct contrast the jam roly poly pudding was excellent. Breakfast was to a high standard. Why no 5 star rating? See my comments re bed size and the fish & chips.

What can I say about this little gem of a hotel! Absolutely brilliant hosts, amazing food, lovely setting beside river, very comfortable room, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We loved it. The Sunday roast was amazing, the beef just melted when you cut it. Breakfast was a feast of local Scottish flavours. The whole ambience was just superb. Thank you Michelle, Beth and Chris for your hospitality.

The pub is in a lovely riverside location in a pretty hamlet., just off long-distance footpaths. The location is quiet, but it's within easy reach of lots of things to see and do: there are several superb gardens open to the public, and beautiful coastal scenery on the Rhins of Galloway. It is in immaculate condition after renovation and re-opening a couple of years ago (a community project, with some of the funding from wind farm companies). Chris's food is innovative and ranges from pub grub to taster-menu gastronomy. The staff are welcoming and helpful.

Although a little out the way Kenmuir Arms is well worth a visit. We arrived to a warm welcome. The hotel only has 3 rooms but ours was spacious very clean and was beautifully decorated looking out over the river and bridge. The sug is definitely Snug but had great atmosphere. We enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu which was an amazing experience. Locally sourced and well presented delicious food by chef Douggan. It was not rushed as some tasting menus are. Definitely will go back to try other food on menu such as Sunday roast.

Oh my, what a hidden gem. We dining at this restaurant last night and had the most amazing evening. We walked in from the road and were immediately impressed. All of the food being served looked delicious but we chose the tasting menu which was incredible. The staff were so friendly and accommodating we have decided to going back tonight for a Sunday roast. If you are in the area please try and visit as you will not be disappointed.

A beautiful hotel in stunning surroundings. The food is amazing and the service is second to none. The rooms were very clean, well presented with everything that we could have wanted ( including coffee machine with a variety of coffee pods). The bathroom and large shower were fully stocked with amazing Scottish hair and body products. Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.

The staff and ownership were amazing. We checked in very late but were warmly greeted. They even made sure I could have a late beer and scotch. Food was fantastic! World traveled owner/chef very involved in our comfort and experience. Best haggis I have ever had. Breakfast was splendid!
