Imagination Island

We had a great time at Imagination Island. The staff are superb - kind, gentle, and accommodating. This resort is not for everyone. You have electricity for limited periods of time. Rooms are not air-conditioned. There is limited access to wi-fi. Food is generous, delicious and fresh. The team does a great job to hook you up with tours of nearby islands. We loved our over the water room - we could see all kinds of fish, sharks, and corals. The absence of light pollution meant you could see the amazing night sky easily. It was great.

Beautiful peaceful island with great personal, friendly service from all staff. EJ the manager and Emmanuel can't do enough to help. A real personal service. The rooms are over the water with fabulous views. They are clean and comfy. Flask replaced daily to make tea and coffee. Amazing snorkeling all round the island and particularly round the restaurant. Beautiful coral, hundreds of fish and sharks yo swim with. Such a magical place. Food is simple and tasty. I could not recommend imagination island enough. Thanks guys x

Such an awesome place to rest and recharge away from hustle and bustle and just simple living. Power is via generator and only for a few hours each day with solar fans keeping the air moving at night while you sleep. This adds to the sense of escape and the peace and tranquility of the island. Our hut was over the water with the most incredible views of the volcano opposite. A huge deck and hammocks for relaxing, table and chairs for games nights and comfortable beds for restful sleeping. Separate bathroom with composting toilet which worked beautifully. Each day our hot water thermos was refilled so we could have a cuppa on the deck with basic amenities supplied. The staff are super friendly and welcoming and can't do enough to make your trip more comfortable. Plenty of options for tours from the island at reasonable rates. We were on a diving trip and Dive Gizo picked us up each day to travel to a different dive sight. Two dives a day with lunch on a different island in-between. Diving was amazing, especially the war ship and plane. Food was typical Solomon Island ware. Fresh seafood, chips and rice/salad. Basic but wholesome and limited choices but always satisfying. Snorkelling around and under the restaurant was our absolute favourite pastime with beautiful coral and thousands of fish and the resident black tip sharks cruising around with us. Water temperature was like a bath, so comfortable for spending many hours swimming and snorkelling. The resort offers free activities such as paddle boarding, kayaking etc to help fill in time. Communication with Alphonsus is best via Facebook Messenger as wifi on the island is very patchy. Don't expect to be scrolling social media while here, again another benefit of this island, forcing us to switch off from everything. So, if you are in need of unplugging from the rat race then pack a great book and come to Imagination Island and simply breathe and relax. Our family loved the relaxed nature of this island and its people. Thanks Alphonsus and staff for the best week of rest we have had in a long time. December 23, Fantastic location for our Scuba diving holiday for those who take the challenge of getting there, Basic island style accomodation & food (4 choices Crayfish, fish & Squid plus a western dish) but exactly what we expected and wanted. Cool drinks at the Restaurant/Bar over the water with the best snorkelling you could ask for while waiting for your meal. Huts are simple but great, close or over the water with magnificent views this is not for the those who want constant attention and luxury but those who want an adventure to remember. Flights out of Honiara to Gizo then a 10 min dingy to Imagination Island. Communications are poor and best to contact the island direct by FB Messenger worked best for us. We used Dive Gizo as our dive operator as they are the only one's in the area, they pick you up each morning from the Island with many sites to choose from depending on the weather with lunch on a different small island paradise each day that you dive with them.
