The Lodhi – A Member of the Leading Hotels of the World

Overall a very poor experience and nothing like a 5 star hotel should be, unless you don’t have experience with 5 star hotels. The room we booked (signature terrace) was in a section of the hotel where renovation was clearly happening. It was 19:00 when we checked in and could hear loud hammering and the room reeked of paint and construction chemicals. We asked to be moved and they just put us in a room directly below where we had the same hammering and smell. We asked to just be in a different section of this very large hotel, but they just moved us once again one room directly below. We finally gave up from being so exhausted and having dinner reservations. We took a shower, and the shower drain was clogged and water leaked out onto the floor. When we came back, the bathroom smelled like raw sewage. We finally had enough and insisted we be moved to a different section of the hotel and they finally did, but to a much smaller room than we booked with no tub. We stayed there because it was quiet and didn’t smell like paint and sewage. The front desk reception is completely clueless about hospitality. It was completely inappropriate they checked us into a room in that condition, refused to come up with a solution, and then moved us to a downgraded room, because we didn’t want to hear construction late at night and have sewage come through the shower. They were rude about the situation and did not care at all. This is what I would expect at a $10 a night hostel, not a hotel that claims to be a 5 star luxury experience. On top of that, the day we checked out we didn’t have a flight until the evening, and they said they could hold our bags for the day in storage. After leaving for 5+ hours, we see our bags outside by the entrance. They had been left there all day outside, and I was told it was just a “miscommunication” between staff. I don’t know how no one would notice this, but that’s little the staff cares and how untrained they are. Overall, it was a very stressful stay. I had also stayed at the nearby Oberoi at the start of my trip and had a much better experience. Don’t bother with the Lodhi.

Nice to sit outside and eat lunch and dinner at the hotel. Food very good. Our waiter Saruabh was excellent. Multinational cuisines. Good salads and good Indian food. Service was excellent. Many people eating at the restaurant. Enjoying themselves.

The food was amazing and Roushan/anil took care of us. They were amazing and very very helpful. Loved the ambience and the hotel is very well maintained. Would highly recommend the place, the menu has also changed………………………………………………………..

Not a professionally run hotel in this category. The service is very poor starting with the front office to the two restaurants. Not uncommon to see customers in the restaurant in pajamas!! Would recommend a dress code - given what they brand themselves as. The location is good. Rooms are nice but need updating. Was very good 7 years ago. Staff poorly trained.

We loved the experience of this hotel. Members of the staff provided personal guidance in answering each of our questions and requests. Saurabh and Preeti in the restaurant personalized our experience at breakfast each morning, even providing their mom’s receipt for making chai when we expressed an interest. I would highly recommend this hotel for incredible experiences catered to your delights!

Special mention to Priyank Kataria the Duty Manager who helped us on departure. There was a marathon going on outside which blocked the roads on a Saturday morning, we were headed to the airport and Priyank went above and beyond by helping us with our Uber driver until we finally were able to exit the property. It was a sweet goodbye! The one night stay we had was excellent with outstanding rooms and customer service all throughout our short stay. The gym, pool, in room service and concierge were above expectations. Thanks again team!

An exceptional hotel. My first trip to Delhi & the Lodhi was a real oasis within the city… a central location but with enclosed gardens / grounds & attentive security I felt very safe. You could relax by the pool or walk around the gardens & you’d hardly know you were in a major city. Staff incredibly helpful & accommodating. Rooms spacious & well equipped. Great nights sleep - beds very comfortable & total blackout wooden blinds. I enjoyed dinner at both Elan & Perbacco Restaurants. Breakfast in Elan was excellent. I would definitely stay at the Lodhi again if visiting Delhi.

After a fantastic but slightly exhausting trip through north India, it felt wonderful to arrive at the Lodhi sanctuary for our last day. Our Garden terrace room was spacious and luxurious with a fabulous bathroom and the huge bed that is better than our bed at home. The breakfast selection is wide, but service slow. The pool is wonderful and we are taking the full advantage of the facilities before our late flight back home.
