Edelweiss Inn New Braunfels

Not the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Refrigerator did not work and was in terrible shape even if it would work. One bed side lamp, The other neither had a plug to be plugged in nor a switch to be turned on. Burn marks from cigarettes on the bathtub. Shower head made for someone 4 to 5 feet tall. Lack of plugs in walls, only one extra outlet next to the bed, so anyone with a cpap would have to charge their phone by the sink. No ice machine working which would have made up for the non working refrigerator. Surprised me there were no bugs. Overall a clean but run down place to sleep.

Unprofessional and not worth the money The room was extremely hot. Took a nap when we got there and woke up drenched with sweat. When front desk was told about the issue they sent a tech to look at AC but said it was working perfectly. After getting back from a night out i asked the front desk for a fan and was told they would send one up. After waiting an hr i called back and was told the AC was fine. Front desk gave me attitude but eventually brought a fan. The following morning an hr before check out the front desk called every 15 min to remind us that check out was at 11. At 1055 there was a lady knocking on our door asking if we were checking out on time. Oh and to top it all off there was no toilet paper in the restroom.

One night that felt like a year This was an awful motel/inn.... The room has not been updated in years. The bedding had holes, the AC did not work, you are not allowed to get ice until July 1st. Now this is Texas you need AC and Ice. The in room refrigerator did not work, no coffee for the coffee pot. The free breakfast was not really breakfast but burnt coffee in the lobby. The restroom had not fully been cleaned in awhile. The clerk hand wrote my Credit Card number down on a piece of paper anyone could see. The door was not sealed so you could hear everything from outside. To say we spent a year here last Saturday night would be an understatement. Avoid at all cost, all though it looks like a really cool German hotel it is not!

Decent, but… Most of the room was good. Nothing new, but still good conditions. There was also a little too much other furniture. But when I got up to shower, a yellow fluid had drained from behind the shower wall into my soap holders in my tub.

The Owner Mr K is a stellar human being. The reviews on here are so saddening because he really is a wonderful man, who does the most with what he is given. He offers shelter for those who need it the most, many who are quite bitter and ungrateful for the exceeding amount that he gives to them, too. There’s so much more than meets the eye…a lot of behind the scenes work that he does will organizations too. He does it all by himself, with the work of maybe one other loyal employee, and he works wonders with the hell that is thrown at him week to week. I don’t say that lightly, think of the worst thing you could walk in on, every single morning, if you owned a place like he does. The most undeserving people, in most accounts, he gives endless second chances to. He is the example of what it means to be forgiving and generous, and caring, and compassionate. One of the most patient people I have ever come across. The scariest and most hopeless seeming people, that’s who leans into. He continues to give all that he has in complete humbleness and generosity to those that are struggling in the community, and is even seen as a type of Father figure it seems to a lot of the people that frequent his establishment, even if they fail to see it. He works tirelessly day in and day out to provide for people, and he deserves so much more help than he has. He really does all he can to flip the place around, with the constant terror that is added to his daily life. He is fearless, and faced every obstacle with his head held high, with constant opposition. Multiple rooms are trashed to despair within a night, and he BY HIMSELF(and Julie the beautiful Angel) finds a way to repair it all with the blink of an eye. His hospitality and kindness is so abused, and as painful as it is to see, I respect him so much as a person, for the heart that he has, and the will that he has to keep on giving. He had a beautiful lobby, magical even, and is very willing to offer any needed services to those who ask. He is a person who has The Lord in and around him, regardless who is able to feel that presence. My first encounter with him, involved Christ, and from then on, no matter what I was lacking—in the short amount of time I knew this man—he struck me with awe, and it will stick with me for my entire life.
