Incredible service and knowledgeable staff--they knew the best places to go for dinner and breakfast locally. Our goals was to get to know the town a bit.

Front desk is wonderful and friendly. Hotel is quiet and in a nice and what seems to be safe area. Rest of hotel has some to be desired. Hot water is basically nonexistent at shower and bathroom sink and water pressure is a joke. Hotel is showing some serious age across the entirety (outside of the lobby) and lack of care for deep cleaning in rooms. Cobwebs in corners, paint on walls, trim pieces missing cracks in ceiling and what looks to be water damage repair as well. AC had a musty smell for the first day. Bed is extremely soft and will sink several inches when sitting/laying down. Balcony door needs lubricated as it was a struggle to open/close. Parking is not the best situation when events are being held at the hotel. Price is extremely high for quality of room received. Next travel to New Bern, I will not be staying at this hotel.

Shelly in the Restaurant was ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. She ensured our needs were met every morning during our 2-week stay in New Bern with her pleasant smile. If there was an item missing on the buffet, Shelly would do her best to replenish the missing item & would ensure all other items were refilled. All the time with her lovely, enjoyable smile.

Rooms we’re tired looking. Stains on furniture. Hotel had an overall musty smell. House keeping was poor and needs more attention. Breakfast an additional fee. Balconies small with not outdoor seating.

I am a long time, repeat guest. Just wanted to say, Karen, Gracie, and Autumn are such amazing hosts. I choose the DT because of their awesome hospitality. Facilities could use a bit of investment. Time for some upgrades to the rooms. The maintainance staff is fantastic when there is an issue. I would like to see a greater attention to preventative maintenence. The owners/management should see preventative maintenance and schedule for inspections as an investment into future business, rather than a cost. The current priority is clear and will likely drive away future business. I have confidence that will change, either by grrater attention to the voice of the consumer or thr choice will be made for the business by consumer spending. Better late than never for this property and the hampton property.

Don’t know where to begin. First I have to say, staff was really kind—however I was very disappointed in my stay. There on business, I had hoped for a better experience. Several things wrong with my stay. First, the room was not cleaned as should—shower had huge stain on floor of the tub& I couldn’t figure out what it was but I felt strongly that it hadn’t been cleaned as should. Next, bathroom wall of the shower looked grungy and unacceptable. You could see grime buildup in the crevices of the tile. I really should have requested a room change because I was very uncomfortable. 🥴 The hotel needs a total do over, if you ask me. I felt like jumping in the shower when I finally made it back home! Yuck! 🤮 Then as I was getting dressed on last day, I noticed a long string of hair (not my own) on the mirror—that sent me over! On one of the nights while I was trying to relax in bed, I noticed an insect flying around and couldn’t tell exactly if it was a gnat but I did try to inspect my bed for bed bugs when arrived on 1st day. Always try to remember to do this. Crucial!! You can tell that it is long overdue for some renovations. Whoever is cooking the infamous DT cookies need to be trained again because they were bout near burnt the two times I got it. Pool looked questionable and I was afraid to even attempt to get in and decided not to. Glad I did. 🥴 Just overall unpleasant with experience. Hopefully I don’t have to return anytime again. I have stayed on more than one occasion but this was a bit much.

Had dinner at the confluence restaurant and it was exceptional. Our waiter was actually the supervisor, Amanda, a remarkably kind and down-to-earth person. The chef, Cedric, even came out to inquire about the quality of the food. If he is working, you can expect some of the finest cuisine you have ever had. The service and food were both outstanding. I will definitely be returning.

The bar team is amazing: Michael, T.A., Tommy & Tracy are all total pros and fun to be around! It’s funny how many regulars this bar has for being situated in a hotel. Speaks volumes for the team members. (Get Michael to make you a Painkiller, by the way. You’ll be glad you did.)
