First of all, the images of this property do not accurately reflect what it looks like today. The listing makes it seem all rooms are ocean view/ocean front. They are not. We spent nearly $300 a night to stay in a room at the back of the hotel that overlooked the slums in back of the hotel. It's not even the same color as the photos. And there are most certainly not pretty flowers hanging outside. We moved the bed around (which was on wheels, by the way) and discovered the end table next to the bed--which was previously hidden--was covered in mold. The bathroom was so small you had to move your knees to the side when sitting on the toilet, since they wouldn't fit out in front of you. The kitchen was long and skinny. And there was a sign stating you'll be charged $20 if you leave any dishes unwashed. Nice. The worst part was the rudeness of the staff. When we pulled up in front of the door of our room to unload, it was less than 1 or 2 minutes before someone texted us telling us to move our vehicle. We weren't planning to stay there long--just long enough to unload. Then, when we returned from dinner, the same thing happened, instead this time the person who appeared to live in the front house came outside to tell us to move. Our vehicle wasn't there for even 60 seconds before we were told to move. It's possible the rooms facing the ocean are nicer, I wouldn't know. But I don't think the property should be asking customers to spend money to rent room #9. I should also mention the "office/front desk" was closed, so all communication with the hotel staff was by text. I want to add that I didn't book this expecting a luxury stay. However, I did expect a clean, quaint, imperfect-but-acceptable room. IT WAS NONE OF THOSE.
