Comfy facilities. Awesome shower with excellent pressure. Was surprised to find they were hosting a blues festival, which we enjoyed. Would stay again.

The accommodation was superb, clean, tidy and very spacious. Staff very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent with beautiful well maintained grounds.
The food was delicious but did take 50 minutes to arrive.

We loved this place as it’s quiet and outside of the main CBD so easy to get in and out. On the night we stayed it was quiet and no issues with diners trying to park in the accommodation parking lots. Loved how cosy and quaint it was, with a very fancy bathroom and bed. Good speed Wi-Fi. The added brekkie items were good value for the price point given that a lot of hotels cost more and won’t offer that. It was some boxed cereals and fruit. Plenty of milk.

I really wanted to give this place a 4 star, but the location of a wedding party opposite my room and the surprising lack of breakfast ( just a box of weetabix and some cookies) made it a little disappointing for me….. That’s a shame as the hotel/pub is a nice place., tranquil (when there is no wedding), a few meters from a great walking path along the coast towards Nelson or Richmond and with a fine pub with good food all on site. The staff are friendly, rooms are clean (if starting to look a little tired) and have most things you could need, even a spa bath! If I was here again however I would investigate the newer and better looking hotel over the road…..

The food is great but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The staff are friendly but ‘lost’ items that were ordered. They were most obliging when asked about the whereabouts of ordered food but there was little follow through. I understand restaurants being short staffed but when you have to approach the bar to find out what happened to your order 🤷♀️? Definite room for improvement.

Stayed 2 nights attending a wedding at hotel. This place is humming. Garden bar filled with families, locals and cyclists enjoying Nelson’s cycle ways. Gardens are beautiful and immaculately kept. Bar staff are efficient and friendly. Our room was lovely. Very spacious bedroom and bathroom. Tea, coffee and continental breakfast refreshed daily.

Sehr gutes Essen und freundliche Bedienung- eher einfache Gerichte aber dafür sehr gute Portionen und sehr gut gewürzt und gekocht. Sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Bedienung- sich für Lunch geeignet- da haben sie eine andere Karte als abends

Always nice staying in character hotels, great change from modern hotel/motel rooms. It's an old building, so will have imperfections in the decor. After a hard day cycling, I had a bath! It was an original bath with feet, very deep and comfy. Very comfortable bed too. Lighting not that flash - this is something I always pay attention to because my eyesight not 100%. But still an enjoyable and pleasant stay.

A lovely place to stay. Clean, warm and with helpful, friendly staff. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom products supplied. The room was quiet even with the outdoor eating area below and the view was beautiful. Easy to find and plenty of parking.
