When I checked in, I heard a familiar local accent. I was very surprised. I was also given a welcome milk. I like it 👍. The hotel is very quiet and there are many restaurants nearby.

Friendly staff who couldn’t do enough to help Spacious studio units , we had unit 8 upstairs which had more privacy than others Bit dated but great location, 5 minute walk to town Good laundry facilities Can recommend if you want a basic motel in an excellent location

I had the good fortune to spend four nights at Riverlodge Motel. The room was so clean, comfortable and well maintained and owners Edie and Jon were so pleasant and helpful that I'm more than happy to recommend this motel to anyone considering staying in Nelson. As a bonus, the location is only a short walk from the central city and all it offers.

This motel is in a good location. The ownerJon is very nice and accommodating. The large studio room we were allocated was dated and had a shower cubicle with a shower curtain which was disappointing given the money we paid. We mentioned the issues with the room and were easily moved to another room. The room details say a queen bed is in the studio but it was only double bed which was not home from home. It was small and for us uncomfortable. If you prefer no caffeine then take your own For shower facilities such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel take your own as the very small sachets provided are inadequate
