Argo Boutique Hotel

Room looks like the furniture was purchased from a garage sale. Bathroom is extremely tiny shower leaks all over. Fitness center is not state-of-the-art again looks like it was purchased from a garage sale no mats Upper bar is never open and the pool is basically a splash pad Breakfast was amazing!

We stayed in Argo Boutique Hotel for 5 nights, and on the whole had a really positive experience. To start with those positives: the staff are helpful and friendly, with a 24-hour concierge. They helped us arrange a driver through their tour business to take us to a number of locations around the island, and patiently answered all our inquiries. The room itself was very clean and fairly spacious, and we had a jacuzzi attached to ours, as part of an outside private area that almost rivalled the size of the main room. Breakfast was a buffet spread with a mix of hot and cold options, and different baked goods every day - clearly made daily. Rosa and Stella were efficient and friendly servers. Finally, the hotel is within 20 mins walk of the port and bus station, 10 mins walk of plenty of bars and restaurants, and less than 5 mins from a great, sandy beach - an all-round great location. The less positive were things that we were unaware of going in, and aspects of the hotel that couldn't be changed but - had we known in advance - might have impacted our decision to stay. Firstly, the room had hardly any storage: two thin desk drawers and a thin, tiny cupboard with a mini fridge in it taking up a lot of room. The cupboard had some shelves, but one was so high that my 6ft husband could only just reach it, and I had no chance. Given we were staying for 5 nights we would have liked a bit more space to hang our clothes. Next, the pool areas are not really (in my opinion) places you want to hang out in: the ground floor pool is right next to the bar and breakfast area, and very small. We didn't see anyone spending any time there, except at breakfast. The second rooftop pool/bar area was not properly open - we tried to go up one evening and it had a very abandoned air, though that might have been because it was a bit early in the season. Also the second pool is basically ankle-high water. Given we had hoped to spend a bit more time around the pool this was disappointing, so we were glad to have the beach so close. This was a really nice, well located hotel - very modern, well cared for and with numerous friendly staff. The let down was that the cleverly-taken photos in the gallery did such a grand job of giving an impression of size and space, the reality was a bit jarring.

The staff is friendly and eager to please but this was a bait and switch on the room photos! We thought we booked the King room, with private hot tub shown on the web site… and while we got a king bed and hot tub, the portable hot tub was jammed into a corner of a very tiny outdoor space - this was NOT the spacious built in tub and outdoor space promised on the web site. The shower had good pressure, but the knob was so sensitive, it went from cold to scalding very easily… good forbid someone flush while you are showering! The location is great if you want to spend time at the beach and easily walk to restaurants and nightlife. Breakfast was delicious - lots of good little things about this place but it is hard to overcome the expectation they set for our experience vs what was delivered.

Wonderful boutique hotel. We stayed for 3 nights. Room was comfortably laid out and had everything we needed. Balcony with view to garden was a bonus. Staff super friendly and informative. Morning breakfasts were amazing. Secluded setting yet a five minute walk to town and restaurants.

I would give it 5 stars but there is no parking for the hotel so that makes it very difficult. Also the shower is not hot. If neighbors took a shower or someone else in your family there is only enough hot water for 1 person and I waited hours and it didn’t warm up again.
