The manager was incredibly kind and friendly. The room condition was excellent; upon our evening arrival, the manager had thoughtfully pre-heated the room for us. The spacious bathroom, with safety bars for seniors/mobility impaired, was impressive. Our children enjoyed Netflix. Breakfast, served personally by the manager from 7:30 AM, was delicious, and the warm hospitality in the quaint dining area created a memorable experience for our family. Special thanks to the adorable Lucky and to the manager for these precious memories. We will definitely visit again.

It is a cute cabin with its own parking space. Generally speaking, the cabin in the mountain is not bad. The bonus is that the cabin provides breakfast for about 30 yuan, which is very good. The disadvantage is that the glass of the door and window of the room I stayed in could not be closed, probably because the room was very old. But the scenery of this mountain is really beautiful. I hope to come back in winter to see it covered by water, because I came in summer and there was basically no snow.

People who stay at Tongariro Lodge should have only one purpose, that is to climb Tongariro Volcano! We stayed for two nights because we wanted to climb the mountain early in the morning. Fortunately, the weather was very good on the second day. After walking 20 kilometers, we returned to the hotel at 3 or 4 in the afternoon to rest and cook. The room was very big and the bed was very comfortable. Highly recommended!!!

The accommodation is neat and clean, with complete facilities. If you go hiking in Tongariro by car, this is a good rest stop. There are only hostels and huts further up. The breakfast is cooked by the host and his wife themselves, and it is very delicious.

The bedding was exceptional; the staff was attentive; the place is well run and clean. I felt great in morning sleeping in a cozy warm clean bed. The young lady manager recommended a great hike, when I was in not recommended to do the crossing. She is a terrific manager.

We had a good stay here in the Turoa Suite, which is the size of a spacious one-bedroom apartment. I wish TripAdvisor would let you load videos as that's a much better way of capturing this meandering suite than via pictures. Since I can't, I'll just say that the bedroom has plenty of space to navigate around the bed and isn't nearly as narrow as the lodge's website photos had me worried about. I would call the overall level a 3.5-star--a nice cabin but not a luxury property or area. They can arrange a shuttle service if you're here for the Tongariro Crossing that picks up/drops off just a few doors down from the lodge (it's a bit pricey though and we had a car so we didn't use the shuttle). There is a washer/dryer on site but just one set of machines so you'll have to stay vigilant if you want to get use of them. Staff were very kind (as everyone in NZ is!) and it was a good base for the longest hike of our NZ trip.

Great stay at the Tongariro Crossing Lodge. Their help and guidance for the crossing and local hikes in the area was priceless. Very professional very informed, I got all my uptodate information needed for the hike from them, weather information for the day, equipment needed, what to look out for. Without them finding the updated information and where to go was difficult. They arranged the shuttle and food for the day of hike and made everything go so smooth and the experience of the hike much easier and super smooth. Amazing special care, great cooked breakfast and personalised service. Thank you
