The Westin Washington National Harbor

Great food! Great service! The staff were nice to me. After a long tiring working day, this hotel is a good choice for business travel. It is right at the harbor and next to all types of delicious restaurants.

My car broke down in Morgantown, WV. I called the hotel to cancel, expecting to be charged one night, not both. I believe I was charged for 2 nights and also had to purchase a hotel near my broken down car in WV. I believe the policy was to charge me one night and you would think they would throw you a bone and sympathize with my horrible situation.

The hotel was in a great location and parking was easy. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hands down amazing. The room could definitely use a deep clean though lots of dust and mildew on the ceiling (photo)

The hotel was overpriced and decor in the room was dated, surprising as I thought is was a newer hotel. The valet staff and bartender were very pleasant although the front desk management team was not accommodating and unprofessional. I needed to check out a day early from my original 3 night stay that I booked and they would not allow me to do so without paying the 3rd night. As I am at the front desk requesting this, a call comes in for someone who needs a room and they were told that the hotel was sold out!!!! They could have taken my room and accommodated 2 customers! I should have stayed across the street, I am a weekly Marriott customer, won't go back.

The check in process left much to be desired. Staff hanging out at the front desk, fedex man having out at front desk, no acknowledgment of Marriott status, we checked in early and were told they had a room "but it's on the second floor" which seems odd. Come to find out they did not disclose that the 2nd floor is where they put all the pets so we were disturbed by constant barking late into the night and even had to call the front desk about it. They should have at lease disclosed that information upfront so we could have made an informed decision. Additionally, housekeeping is A COMPLETE JOKE. They do not clean. We spilled cookie on the floor the first day and it stayed there throughout our trip which shows they certainly did not vacuum the room at all. Also towels will obvious staining hung up as "fresh towels", housekeeping leaving their cleaning rags in our room. We came back and even saw housekeeping having a major chill session in the room next door during cleaning hours.

The service is exceptional as are all of the staff. The rooms and beds are really comfortable and it felt so relaxing with the room and offerings of a fitness center, restaurant, bar and all amenities. The waterfront and shops and restaurants are plenty with great food.
