The evening buffet was good and the hot spring experience was great

那須高原の中央に位置する「新那須」エリアで、東京ドーム約4個分ともいわれる広大な敷地の中に9か所の宿泊館（一部休館中）、4か所の食事会場、3か所の大浴場および露天風呂がある大規模リゾートホテルである。 夕食および朝食はいずれもビュッフェ形式となっており、2連泊以上の場合1泊目はホテル側が食事会場を指定（和食または中華または洋食ビュッフェ）、2泊目以降は宿泊客が自由に選べることができる（不定期ながら21時以降の無料夜食サービスもあり）。 またホテルの敷地が広大なため、大浴場および露天風呂に引かれる源泉の泉質が3種類（硫黄泉、アルカリ単純泉、マグネシウム-ナトリウム泉）もあるのが特徴である。 那須高原は例年6月になるとツツジの花が見ごろを迎えるが、こちらのホテルでは敷地内にバラの花がたくさん育てられており、ちょうど訪れたころにバラの花が満開となっていたのである。 また本館の大浴場に併設する露天風呂は、男女ともバラの花を浮かせており、バラの香りを楽しみながら温泉浴をすることができる。 毎週土曜の夜に近隣の那須サファリパークで開催される「ナイトサファリ」に、ホテルが用意するツアー用バスで向かうオプショナルツアーがあり、申し込みは事前に電話で予約する必要がある。 また6月の平日（金曜も可）に2泊以上の予約でチェックインすると、地域限定の電子クーポン3,000円分を付与され、連泊時の宿泊部屋清掃を希望しない際の1,000円と合わせ、館内売店で利用できる4,000円分のキャンペーンを実施中で、各種おみやげのほか「那須ハイランドパーク」「りんどう湖ファミリー牧場」等の前売りチケットにも適用できる。 なお本館の玄関前を通る「那須高原観光周遊バス」の1日券（1,500円）および2日券（3,000円）も、本館売店にて購入できるが、こちらは現金のみの取り扱いとなる。

I went there for the first time in a long time. Perhaps because it was a weekday, only the main building was open. The baths are large and the quality of the spring water is rich, so you can soak in a variety of hot springs in one place, and there is also a sauna. The temperature of the shower in the washing room was low, and at this time of year, it was very cold when I was washing my body. The dinner buffet was Hokkaido Fair. The boiled crab was delicious and not salty. The breakfast menu was also interesting, including the melon-flavored soft serve ice cream that was served at dinner, which was also available for breakfast, as well as black bean natto and farm coffee milk.

We stayed here in October. Due to the bad weather on that day, there were not many guests staying at the hotel, so I think it was quiet and comfortable in a good way. There are some parts of the facility that are showing signs of age, but it has been kept clean and there was no discomfort. The room was spacious enough and there was a sofa. The bath in the room was nice, but the open-air bath had a sense of freedom and was even better. The temperature of the hot water seemed a little low due to the rain, but since the source is said to be a living thing, this can't be helped. The meal is a Chinese buffet. There were many children's menus and the children were very happy. I would like to stay here again when I go to Nasu.

I think it was because of cancellations due to a typhoon forecast during the Obon holiday, but it was quiet and I was able to relax at the hot springs and buffet. The room was well-cleaned, and there was coffee, tea, and buns, so I was satisfied. I did not go into the pool.

I decided to choose a smoking hotel from the beginning, but there was no ashtray in the room. When I asked the staff, they said "Smoking is prohibited in the entire building" and it has been like that since March of this year... I'll let them know... but there was no response, and there was no word when I checked out. What do you think about this?

I visited again after about half a year. Learning from my mistakes last time, I made a reservation after confirming that the main building's large public bath was open. The room was the same as last time. The source of the outdoor bath in the guest room was a mixed spring, and I thought it might be a sulfur spring + something? But it was an alkaline + magnesium spring, which was disappointing. And it was hot. I thought the previous lukewarm sulfur spring was much better. It's harsh in the winter, but it's still better than the current mixed spring... However, even with a lot of water added, there is still a slight smell of the hot spring, so it's worth using to wash off the sweat. Is there a small number of washing places in the main building's large public bath? The sulfur spring is very effective, but even the lukewarm water in the outdoor bath is only 40 degrees, which is disappointing. I was hoping that it would be the same temperature as the previous outdoor bath in the guest room. The outdoor bath and the sulfur spring in the indoor bath are not much different in temperature. The alkaline spring, set at 37 degrees, was also close to 40 degrees, which is disappointing. Perhaps because it is often used by elderly people, this is a hot spring that has no connection to lukewarm water. This time, I went to the Sky Hall in the main building. It felt like a resort hotel meal + α, and it was not as good as the previous Chinese food. However, I was satisfied. The dishes and desserts using dairy products were especially delicious. I could eat several cups of milk in the morning and coffee milk. This time, there were many negative points compared to the previous time, and the distance to Nasu is far, so I felt that it would be difficult to repeat.

I have been staying at this hotel every June before the summer vacation for almost 10 years, but this year (2023) I booked a two-night, three-day stay with check-in on Friday and check-out on Sunday, and stayed in a double room at the Oriental Garden Hall. Normally, it is the beginning of the rainy season, so Nasu Highlands has many cloudy and rainy days, with temperatures of 20°C during the day and around 15°C in the early morning, but this time, the weather was good for all three days and the temperature around the hotel was 29°C, as high as midsummer. I finally checked in around 5:30 p.m. in the evening to match the time of the local bus from JR Kuroiso Station. At this time, the check-in procedure was completed smoothly without having to line up at the front desk, and the first day's dinner was a buffet at the Chinese restaurant "Banri" on the first floor of the Oriental Garden, and the second day's dinner was a buffet at the Italian restaurant "Mori no Table" on the second floor of the adjacent "Forest Villa Hall". Also, if you ask for no cleaning on the second day when you check in, you will receive a 1,000 yen coupon that can be used at the hotel's shops (in this case, only towels will be replaced on the second day, and mineral water will not be replenished). The breakfast was buffet-style at the Oriental Garden "Banri" both times, just like the overnight stay. Check-out on Sundays is early, at 10:00, so we moved to the main building, a little further away, and had the front desk leave our luggage until the evening. The purpose of this 2-night, 3-day trip was to go to "Nasu Animal Kingdom" on Saturday and "Nasu Ropeway" on Sunday, so after checking in, we purchased discount tickets for each at the shop in the main building, as well as a 1-day bus pass valid for 2 days (we used the 1,000 yen coupon we received at check-in). As we have used this hotel many times, we were always satisfied with the hot springs, meals, and the attentive service of the hotel staff. We were also blessed with good weather, making this the best Nasu trip we have ever had.

The hot spring is small, but the quality of the spring water was good. The food was a buffet, and was neither good nor bad. Some of the dishes were so bad that I couldn't eat them, but overall it was sufficient. The rooms were awful, and although they were old, I can't help it, the smell was unbearable. It smelled like sewage. I woke up in the middle of the night because of the smell, and the smell drifted all the way to my bed, so I couldn't sleep. Was it backing up from the sewer pipes? My companion said it smelled like a cheap apartment, and it was a terrible experience. Even when I opened the window, bugs got in, so I wish they would clean the sewer pipes. There were also bugs in the room, and although they didn't bite me, it was unpleasant.
