You need to call ahead to verify amenities before booking. You may not be getting what you pay for. It's a shame because the hotel is nice.

The hotel Is beautiful as always however they now make you pay additionally for breakfast where it was included in the past and the restaurant is completely closed Monday and Tuesday so your unable to even buy a drink. We highly recommend if your coming here Monday or Tuesday stay at the shore house. Rooms are just as beautiful. The restaurant is called “the Craft” and opens at 4 daily and serves excellent food and drinks with lovely deck. It’s a shame one can’t even buy a beer here and enjoy the deck on a Monday or Tuesday night or enjoy a meal especially during high season. We only stayed here instead of shore house because of their normal delicious food/drink even though it’s a higher price. We wanted to be here for our anniversary to also enjoy the restaurant. Sadly we should have stayed elsewhere.

This review is to cover the 3 nights each week that my wife and I stayed at in 2 consecutive week. What a difference a week makes. My wife and I stayed at the break for 3 nights for each week . First week was x x x And second week was Sunday Monday and Tuesday. For both weeks: The property is wonderful. The grounds are well kept and neat. The staff in any Role is fantastic. From the front desk to the breakfast service staff to the staff that has your room ready and the pool guy that makes sure the pool is ready for any weather. Check in. Always welcomes returning guests. Courteous and efficient. Ready to provide information to local area . Little treat with note left for us in the room. Gas fireplace is wonderful to get the chill out no matter the time of year. Room temperature easy to set with controls. Great Wi-Fi. Never used tv but is assume it’s easy to use Rooms: they are all wonderful. Ocean view, sunset, balcony or no balcony the rooms are all great. Heated bathroom floors, great showers whether walk in or traditional tub shower are all great. All are beach themed. Great vibes throughout the property . Wonderful decor throughout the property. It is my opinion they are now using a hospitality management team/cooperation to run the day to day business. Mr and Mrs Durkin please do not forget what made this property what it is… local details and employees. The first week : arrive and check in. We were informed the breakfast in now a continental breakfast. Spent rest of day in the pool and bit in sauna. Because others broke many knobs for the sauna the staff must turn it on. I can see the reason for that. But “ breakfast “ next morning. Look at my last review and my fears were reality. Breakfast included some small triangles of pastry, some decent muffins, bagels, English muffins and fruit. Coffee and juice were also included. I stepped outside and saw the sign for the break and knew I was not in a red roof inn or motel 8. Nothing against those chains but they don’t advertise as a botique property. Made my opinions known. Talked to 2 other couples as retuning guests and they were also disappointed Returned Sunday of the next week. Again check in was perfect. Welcomed back as returning guests. Room was perfect. Pool was perfect. Pool guy is on top of his game. Got a pizza at on point pizza just down the road and it was great. Next morning we headed down for breakfast and were surprised by the new breakfast. Guest who remembered us from week before( or me complaining about the breakfast). She said to us .. we were told there was some changes coming…and YES there was…Hot scrambled eggs, real bacon and pancakes. Not only was it was delicious it what is what should be expected for this property. Again fruit, juice and coffee were part of the breakfast. I expressed our gratitude for this wonderful breakfast. Serving of scrambled eggs, 3 pieces of bacon and fruit. Filled me .Perfection. So let me explain my issue with breakfas

Was really looking forward to our weekend visit here from everything I had seen on the website and thru social media…..and left a bit disappointed. The hotel has all the makings of what could you a terrific spot….if managed right. We were not made away the rooftop bar was not open. And after going up to the rooftop bar with our drinks from the first floor bar it looked like staff hadn’t been up there in weeks. As far as the downstairs bar goes…three beer taps were out on a Saturday. And after listening to the bar and waitstaff explain how a number of times were not available on the menu we did not even contemplate eating there. Great location, nice rooms but something is just not quite right. With some appropriate management this place could be a gem.

To celebrate my birthday this past weekend, my daughter booked two rooms for two nights at a cost of $2770. The booking was made in March and from then through this past week, she had several telephone conversations with Break staff regarding the rooms, accommodations for my three year old granddaughter, and restaurant reservations. Relying on the hotel website and these conversations, we were all extremely excited about our upcoming visit. The rooftop sunset bar/restaurant as well as the breakfast offerings appeared on the level to be expected if one were to spend close to $700/night. At no time from booking until arrival did anyone inform us that the rooftop restaurant would be off limits and the breakfast room adjoining the lobby would be the location for our dinner reservations. Upon entering the breakfast room Friday evening, the staff apologized profusely and informed us that the hotel was in the middle of transitioning to a new restaurant contract and thus the menu was limited to only a few very basic appetizers and entrees. The staff tried their best but the food was at best barely acceptable and bore no resemblance to the photos on the website. In comparison with the following morning breakfast however and renewed apologies from the sole staffperson, the dinner was sumptuous and gourmet. Breakfast was barely edible, featuring stale rolls, bagels, a few cuts of fruit, and awful coffee. While the breakfast today was an improvement it wasn't even possible to get milk for our coffee. After several discussions with hotel management staff we were offered a credit toward a future visit. As the saying goes, fool me once…. This was supposed to be a special occasion. I do not normally splurge and spend anything close to $700/night each for two rooms. While the rooms themselves were very comfortable and spacious and the staff as helpful as possible, the value of our visit was more accurately in $400/night category. (Even at that price, the shower door in my daughter's family's room should have opened more than maybe ten inches because of a badly installed soap dish). Adding insult to injury, the hotel opened the rooftop bar/restaurant to a private party this morning. Why couldn’t it have been open all weekend if it was so easy to open for a group today? Why couldn’t the hotel bother to make a phone call informing us that the restaurant was basically closed and that there would be no breakfast service? Why wasn’t this mentioned on the website? This was misrepresentation on a grand scale and no one at the hotel disagreed. Going by conversations at neighboring tables at breakfast, my family was far from alone in feeling great disappointment and frustration. If you are contemplating a stay at the Break - call first before booking and get a guarantee in writing that what is represented on the website actually exists. Don't trust the huge lit neon sign on the hotel announcing that the sunset bar/restaurant is OPEN.

Great in many ways. , atmospheres , beds , comp breakfast, staff etc . However owners asleep at wheel. Minimal lounges at very nice pool ; no fire pit lit at nite , rooftop bar non existent. Staff on duty very pleasant, nice beach chairs & towels to take to beach

Wonderful service, lovely hotel. We loved the “little” things, like the heated bathroom floor, two luggage stands, window bench, water (including seltzer), and cookies. Really delightful. Only wish the breakfast had protein of any sort, but I understand it’s a temporary situation with new management of the restaurant.

Absolutely gorgeous! Jacee, Shelly & Chloe treated us fabulous! The room was clean, modern & quiet with beautiful amenities! The pool temperature was spot on & luxurious! A bit expensive, however we wanted for nothing. Can't wait to return. Mary & Mike
