Aqua Blue Hotel

This hotel has so much potential. I heard from locals the owner is filthy rich and doesn’t care about keeping hotel in good condition. It’s in a state of disrepair. The TV didn’t work, blinds to see the ocean wouldn’t stay up, the furniture was dirty and stained. I ran into a customer who had to use the public restroom because theirs was broken! However, great location, fabulous workers who were very young and tried to be helpful in a no win situation. The balcony was fabulous! So if you are okay with a hotel that feels like a fraternity party was in your room you can do it! The bonus is the view, walking to beach and local music on Friday. nights you can hear from your room!

Had a great 3-night stay with my family! Perfect location - steps from the beach, restaurants, and shops. Enjoyed our balcony views and easy morning walks to nearby coffee shops.

DO NOT BOOK - the view is nice but the entire hotel is disgusting. So many issues with our room first and foremost was the phone did not work. Could not reach the front desk could not dial out and being senior citizens having a working phone in a hotel room is a requirement. The slider door did not have a working lock so they put a hook in eye on that door that wouldn’t have held if somebody was trying to get in to the room from the deck. The TV only worked on 2 channels. The bathtub jets when used put filthy water and gritty sand into the tub. I gone down to the front desk numerous times about these issues. There was no hotel manager within the hotel itself. The reservation desk was manned by an employee who didn’t have any answers. I demanded that they contact the hotel manager that it was urgent that these issues get resolved. Needless to say none of the issues were resolved. I contacted TripAdvisor, the aqua blue hotel, and sent a message to the owner of that hotel who lives abroad and no response. I requested at least one night be refunded to me, that did not happen. I did get a gift certificate for two nights free. 🤣. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE - read all of the reviews!

Don't make a reservation if you are flying in. My flight was cancelled and they refuse to cancel/refund my reservation because I did not predict storms at least 14 days in advance that caused flights to be canceled. They will not even answer a phone call from my number any more. I have NEVER experienced such pathetic customer service.

There were many things wrong with our room specifically. The property overall was very outdated and run down and the pool area was out of service ironically. But our room specifically, the slider door to the balcony was not locked and the lock did not function, leaving our room vulnerable, our curtain to that slider was broken so only the sheer see-through curtain was fully operable. The tall lamp in our room did not work. The bathroom fan was extremely noisy and squeaky and throughout the whole night, the sound of the utilities throughout the room was very loud and left me sleepless.
