The hotel is in a quiet place, about 15 minutes walk from the station. We chose a room in Japanese style, with tatami. The room is spacious, which is rare for Japan. The price of our stay included dinner (in kaiseki style) and breakfast, the food was delicious and very interesting presentation during dinner. I also liked the onsen, which is located in the open air

The room smelled bad, the ventilation was poor, and the room and the large public bath were generally lacking in cleanliness. The staff were unfriendly and didn't greet us much. Dinner is by reservation only and cannot be prepared at the last minute. The breakfast buffet had few items, the staff were slow to move, and they didn't even clear away the plates after they were finished. It was my first trip in 2025, but it was very disappointing and I would not recommend it.

Although the scenery near the hotel seems to be remote, the hotel is actually in a good location. Next door is the ruins of Heijo Palace, and it is about a ten-minute walk from Kintetsu Yamato-Saidaiji Railway Station. Popular attractions such as Nara Park are only two stations away.
The hotel can reserve a shuttle bus to the railway station. I saw some guests using it, but I didn't use it.
The room is bigger than I expected. There is no extra charge for the hotel's hot spring facilities. There are both indoor and outdoor pools. The service of the hotel staff is very good. Overall, it is highly recommended.
