Aei at Papakea Resort Maui

Beautiful property! Loved the views & all the gorgeous flowers. Garden meticulously cared for. Great proximity to grocery, beaches, smaller restaurants. The beach that the property is situated on is not really swimmable, however plenty more in the area if you rent a car. The first 2 days we were awoken at 5am-6am with loud voices in the suite across from us, followed by a door closing loudly & person saying goodbye (later found out that some people live in this building). Coupled with construction noises between 8am-4pm, we were not finding the place very relaxing for our vacation. We requested a move through ******* and were very happy they accommodated us, moving us to a much quieter part of the property. We loved the view! The pool & hot tub was nice and clean, and we appreciated using the BBQs there. The unit we stayed in needed some updating and maintenance but overall it met our needs. The sliding screen door kept popping off the rail. The A/C was loud, our bedroom windows had lots of dust on top of window frame. Kitchen chopping & bread could be sharpened. The beach chair could be replaced, it was quite flimsy. One cushion on the couch had noisy crunchy plastic & broken foam pieces inside so we tossed it aside, replacing it with a bed pillow. Sofa bed was comfortable. A kettle would be appreciated in the kitchen. We were thankful for a later check out at noon (we requested). Would definitely come back here!

We loved our 3rd floor condo.It is newly updated and the owner provided for so many of our needs. We’d love to come back! The Lanai and view of sunsets and whales was breathtaking every day. We also loved the quiet charm of this well maintained property. Everything you need is close by- beach, store, restaurants etc.

This was my second time staying at the Papakea. In my opinion it is better than the larger resorts because it is quiet and far more relaxing. I would have liked to have had an indoor mat to wipe my feet, as there is always going to be sand. I also feel that if a property is going to charge a cleaning fee, they should do the cleaning, not the guest. Still, I love this property and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to relax.

Great resort Fantastic resort and will stay again and ask for the same unit. Beautiful ocean view. Condo was very comfortable. Kitchen worked out well. BBQs were available at the pool and very clean. The staff keeps the resort very clean.
