Was placed in a separate buidling from the the main which is a makeshift low-rise residence house facing a site under construction. Room had a strong musty smell upon entering which is the most off putting thing. Net door that used to fend off mosquitoes fell off and bed and toilets look old and rundown. Water is hot but pressure is kind of low. No phone to call to the main building. Location wise is very good as it is at the pier. It is a very basic hotel/motel to be honest.

The hotel boasts a wide variety of plants and trees, with meticulous arrangements everywhere, showcasing the owners' dedication. The main building is truly luxurious, and the economy rooms are quite comfortable. However, the standard room types don't match the photos and descriptions; the room space is cramped, the spring mattress makes strange noises, and the window screen is broken and needs repair. I do not recommend the economy family room. On the plus side, it's very close to the pier and the liveliest street.

I like the structure of the hotel. It gives aesthetic ambiance but there’s no other amenities to use though the location is very easy to access. I like it tho!

The location is very good. I booked a big room for 7, but there was only a joint toilet and a bathroom, taking two or 3 rooms for a bigger group that is more than 4 might be better. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Sun Moon Lake very much 😀

The location is good not far from the food street and sightseeing point, can go around by bicycle or electric bicycle, and the price is reasonable. Our room it’s just like the cottage it’s quite privacy and can park an electric bike in front. Just only one things that there is too much balck ant around
