Yunshuiyao Countryside Inn is a treasure inn that you will not want to leave once you come. Stayed for 3 consecutive days, and the experience was particularly good. First of all, the landlord's family is very nice, simple and kind, warm and thoughtful, the room is clean and sanitary, the price is affordable, the homestay is right in the scenic area, next to Hegui Building, quiet in the bustling, the environment is quiet, the third floor platform has an excellent view, the view is wide, the mountains in the distance are shrouded in clouds and mist, and the nearby villages are hidden in the green fields. It is also very convenient to travel. The landlord is our tour guide and explains to us very carefully. I especially recommend the food, which is not expensive but tastes super good. The fish and shrimp are caught by themselves in the river, the chicken is a native chicken, and the cooking, drinking and bathing are all mountain spring water. If my friends go there in the future, I will definitely recommend their home.

The room was very clean. At that time, I saw the boss generously posting photos of the bathroom. It was very refreshing, so I booked this hotel, and I made the right choice. It's very close to Huaiyuan Building. It's very quiet at night. You won't be noisy when you sleep, and there are faint buzzing of insects. The owner's family is very enthusiastic. They are run by their own family. The proprietress's skills are good, and the dishes are delicious. I recommend bamboo-flavored pork. I had dinner on the day of check-in, and had another lunch before leaving. The room was clean and tidy, and the location was good. It was next to the big banyan tree and the windmill. The boss was very nice. I told him that we had our children and he would pick us up at the door right away. He also sent us to the station when we left. If I have the chance to go again in the future, I will stay at his house again.

Single-family small building, the room is clean and tidy. Looking out the window, the scenery is panoramic. There is a balcony on the third floor, where you can dry clothes and drink tea. It is very pleasant. Especially when you get up in the morning and stand on the balcony, it is refreshing. Looking down, there is a fish pond. When you look up, you see loofah crawling all over the shelf. The boss was very enthusiastic and invited us to eat together, drink tea, and finally sent me a taxi when I left, helping me get the box, especially touched, really recommended!

I think this will be hard to beat if you want to visit the Tulou, especially at this price tag. You’re not in a Tulou itself but next door to the most famous Tulou cluster with the best viewpoint in the region only a few minutes walk up the hill.
The hotel is of course quite remote but they’ll help you arrange a driver from Nanjing train station, who can also take you around the main attractions for a little over 1,000 RMB.
The family running the hotel is very friendly, and while the rooms are basic they are comfortable enough, and again the location is incredible!

GGuest UserAmazing experience. Manager helped make everything perfect. Hotel courtyard by night is gorgeous. Stone street outside lining narrow river is full of rushing waterfalls and magical at sunset, and after dark. Make sure to eat in hotel restaurant—sitting in the tea shop is best. Delicious tofu, eggplant, and potato “silk” dishes. Best of all is the cauliflower! Also, iced passion fruit-lime juice…I drank two glasses after every run. Manager also will serve endless cups of tea from her father’s tea farm up the mountain. As local as local gets here.
Hekang village only 4-5 km down mountain road, while it’s about 8km up to a famous tulou village. But tulous are everywhere around, including several inside Taxia. Unbelievable place. 3 nights should be the absolute minimum stay.
Oh, and the cats are friendly and at least one wants to meet you!

GGuest UserI was traveling alone and a friend recommended this Firefly Inn. It is right on the roadside in Taxia Village Scenic Area. There is a beautiful view outside the window. I booked a large room for 2 nights. It was clean and tidy. The boss, whose surname is Zhang, is not very talkative but very sincere. He has arranged the best route to the Tulou and introduced the history and origin of the Tulou. He knows that the customer has a hard time traveling and will go to the nearest place to meet you at the next stop. Don’t miss the boss lady’s local chicken soup and braised bamboo shoots with pickled vegetables for dinner. They are cheap and high-quality but especially tender and delicious😋. Recommendation to all young travel companions: You can choose to charter a car when booking the inn. The boss will be the driver and tour guide throughout the journey to bring you laughter along the way. Thank you again, Boss Zhang, for giving me a pleasant two-day holiday.

GGuest UserWhat an amazing experience to live in the “chopsticks” buildings of the four dishes and one soup! This was a small and beautiful village and the family who ran the inn helped us carry our luggage up to the inn and later down to the inn. When we arrived they cooked a dinner which was reasonable in price based on a local menu. And then during dinner, they told us that one of the family members will be running a free tour of the Tulous of four dishes one soup for us in which they explained the history of the building of the tulous, especially the oval shaped tulou. Our guide was very funny with his stories (he spoke in Chinese) and it was a lovely time seeing the artists and candy makers in the Tulous. I would highly recommend this place. We did have to bring our own towels (or at least we brought our own and they didn’t supply one), so maybe best to check.

The decoration is in a nostalgic campus style, but the hardware facilities are not outdated. You can see the subtle care that the owner put into the room design. There will be several modes of room lighting to suit various needs. The wet and dry partitions in the bathroom are relatively reasonable, and the sewers are smooth and do not accumulate water. The water heater has a large capacity, so you can take a comfortable bath without any problem. It has its own parking lot and is very convenient for self-driving. The location of the B&B is very close to the viewing platform of Four Dishes and One Soup, which has the advantage of seeing the lights and entering the village at night. The landlady usually drinks tea in the front hall. When you pass by and she is free, she will invite you to drink tea and chat with her. The boss will tell you about travel strategies when he has free time, and even take you for a walk in person.

GGuest UserI went to Nanjing specifically to see the Tulou and randomly chose Fuqianlou Tulou B&B to stay. Unexpectedly, I found a treasure B&B. The owner’s grandmother was very enthusiastic and took the children to pick tea on her own tea mountain. She also taught the children how to make tea. The science tea culture also takes children to watch various insects to increase their knowledge. A bonfire party was also organized in the evening, and the children had a great time! Just paying the room fee and study activities, it is really cost-effective.

蔡蔡桂嬋The location of the hotel is fantastic and our room looked directly over the tulou cluster. If you don't mind climbing up steps, you can walk to the high level observation platform in about 15 minutes for a stunning view over the valley.
The rooms and facilities are basic but clean and there is plenty of hot water. As elsewhere in China the mattresses are very hard but okay for a couple of nights.
The couple who run the business are very friendly and helpful and, if you don't want to eat out, they offer good and tasty home cooking.

There are still many families living in the tulou. Main business is agriculture and tourism.
The roads leading to the tulou are made up of irregularly shaped stones. As such, it’s not easy to pull the big luggage along (few hundred metres walk). Recommend to carry backpacks for short stays, leave the big luggage at the tourists centre.
Good experience to live together with friendly people whom I can practice my Hakka.
They also provide home-cooked meals, reasonable prices. Good food.

Great place, better stay at least a couple of nights to fully enjoy the tulou life.
Mr Huang and wife were amazing, some of the most hospitable people I’ve ever met. They cooked food for us and gave the best advices about exploring the surroundings.
If you have time, at sunset, walk up to the bus stop and find the little gap in the guardrail, it will bring you straight to the rice terraces. Can see the Tulou Complex from a different point of view!
