Buffalo’s Rest is, for me, one of the most beautiful and magical places on earth. It’s a must-visit, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. The staff is incredibly warm, the tents are comfortable and authentically designed, and every detail is crafted with care. The area is perfect for thrilling safaris, relaxing boat trips on Lake Naivasha, and stunning hikes. I’m absolutely in love with this place and can’t wait to return again and again!

Buffalo‘s Rest is a magical place! Located on top of a hill overlooking the Lake Naivasha, it is unique and breathtaking. I was travelling alone with my 6 year old twins and always looked after with great care and help! My children and I loved Buffalo’s Rest and the Mountain region of Kenya. Big land turtles walking through the park areal with Art sculptures, enjoying marshmallows on the Fire pit, chilling in the swedish sauna, relaxing in the hangmat or swimming in the pool overlooking the beautiful landscape, this place has it all. It was simply a WOW experience!

Buffalo’s Rest is a small private camp with only 3 double bed tents. We rented them all as we were traveling with friends and the tent was big enough for an extra bed for the children. I loved to open the tent early mornings to enjoy the sunrise in front of the tent facing Lake Naivasha and the Aberdares. Daytime we spend either relaxing by the pool or driving to one of the many sightseeing points around lake Naivasha. We rented the Sauna which is by the pool for one night and did a BBQ at the fully furnished restaurant Banda the other Night. A golf course is close by and offers massages. The camp staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Unfortunately we did not have any time to try the mountain bikes which are for free use at the camp , but will for sure do when coming back another time. There is even a private airstrip 2km away for those who do not like to travel by road.
