Soup to nuts this location was fantastic! The team (from housekeepers to chef to front desk) were kind, accommodating and lovely! The rooms were clean and comfortable and the location is tough to beat. We got adjoining rooms and it was perfect for our family if 5. Their pool, gardens and decks were incredible. The library was delightful and breakfast was outstanding! Can’t wait to come here again!

I got there late on my birthday after an unexpectedly long travel day (accident on 95 South with re-route). When I got there finally, exhausted from driving, sweaty, and desperate for a shower and some sleep, imagine my shock and horror that the room hadn’t been cleaned at all! Dirty towels on the bathroom floor, bed linens not changed and bed not made, AC was non-functional, dirty spoon in the sink, and mini fridge leaking water and hot inside. I called the after-hours office number, but there was no answer, but a lady called me back and apologized and said my money would be refunded. Hopefully the refund will happen. I ended up staying at the Hilton Vacation Club in Kitty Hawk which was awesome.

A delightful place to stay for a getaway. Nice location. We had a large corner King suite with a kitchenette. Very comfortable. Comfortable bed. There was also a day bed with a trundle bed in the room. The breakfast meals were delicious! We will come back again in the future.

Secluded in lovely gardens. Private walkway to the beach. Historic building so not sound proof by any means. Children above us were extremely loud so hard to sleep. Food was good. We had issues with getting what we needed when the room was serviced. IE. coffee but no cups. Clean towels were left stacked on the toilet seat on Thursday so that was disappointing. We stayed in room 15. Large room with a balcony. Loved the swing and rockers! Overall a pleasant experience but children need to be on the first floor so the noise is minimal. We love kids but listening to them bouncing across old floors is not ideal. Need to advise guests on how to contact the office and their business hours. Afterhour emergency number is posted on the office but normal hours is not available in the rooms. We loved the code to access the room so we didn’t need a key card!!! Definitely an overall good experience!!!

This property is very quaint and historic. This is definitely not your modern, run of the mill hotel but it is very cool. You feel like you are walking back in time to the 1930s and 40s. The breakfast was fabulous. Bed was comfortable and room was spacious. Access to the beach was convenient.

Lovely place
Service, breakfast, and cleanliness were excellent. Bed spring mattress and type of pillows could be better. Because of my back concerns we could not sleep here again for that reason. Also, no ice.
