Palette Resort Myrtle Beach

This resort applied everything we asked for. It may need a little tlc but for the price we were very s satisfied.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I booked through OYO for Palette Sunset Waves Resort Myrtle Beach and it was a disaster from the moment I pulled in. Within 5 minutes of arriving: • The front desk was rude and completely unhelpful • I was told check-in would be 2 hours later than what was listed • There were 20+ people loitering outside — some clearly carrying guns I felt completely unsafe, turned around, and left without ever checking in. I didn’t use the room, didn’t touch a thing. I immediately contacted OYO and spent 2 hours trying to cancel — but the hotel refused to answer calls to confirm what happened. And guess what? OYO charged me $130.92 and refunded me $0.08. That’s not a typo. Eight cents. That is straight-up fraud. The hotel is shady, the staff is rude, and OYO’s “customer service” is a joke. I’ve filed a chargeback, reported them to the FTC, BBB, and CFPB, and I’m not done. Avoid this place at all costs. It’s dangerous, dirty, and part of a scammy system that preys on travelers. Save yourself the time, stress, and money.

My family and I stayed here because my son had a Basketball tournament and the price was reasonable for a beach front property. Before booking I not only read the policy and what they offered but I called the property as well. Communication was on point and the staff was kind and accommodative. At any resort with full kitchen I still bring my own things because I want all my incidental money back. I also take pictures upon arriving and leaving. Just something I do. I haven't encountered any of what the other reviews mentioned. My family and I were comfortable and safe. I also found out that the hotel has changed management and with that they were doing some remodeling and upgrading. overall, I am booking again with them for my sons birthday in June.
