Tsubame Highland Lodge is a cozy family run lodge surrounded by nature. The building looks old, but it's clean and tidy. It feels like a detached lodge where you can drop by when you want to relax and refresh yourself in a quiet place surrounded by nature. I stayed for several days each summer and winter for workcation and hot spring cure, but I was able to relax both physically and mentally. I enjoyed both the open-air sulfur cold spring and the warm indoor bath while gazing at the beech forest. I was able to immerse myself in reading while drinking coffee slowly in the room and lobby while facing the beautiful beech forest. I would like to recommend it to those who want to enjoy a nostalgic and warm Japanese mountain lodge that is different from an ordinary hotel. Ski resort hopping (Seki Onsen, Akakura, Suginosawa) can be done in winter, and you can enjoy trekking around the area throughout the year, and you can enjoy day trips to the surrounding hot springs. You can also go to Kogane-no-Yu in about 15 minutes on foot from the lodge. All the staff are very kind. I will go again.
