Stayed here with my fiance and daughter for my fiance birthday, shower curtain dirty, lock for the window didn't work properly. Fist Mark in the bathroom door, turned the television on to find was damaged, appeared this has been punced or something thrown at the screen was damaged, raised with reception whos response was "it wasn't like that yesterday! Then she said must been from the previous night" it felt as though she was indicating it was us. No apology or good will gesture, nice location, beautiful Italian food, the garlic pizza bread starter was on a different level, divine!! Our 3 year old daughter loved the train on the track on the ceiling in the restaurant, lovely touch, very friendly, attentative staff in the restaurant, lovely atmosphere

Stepping back in time to the stunning setting. We stayed at the hotel for 1 night and it was lovely the bed was massive and very comfy, the room was spacious and the shower was massive. The only downside is we had no plug sockets in room 51? We searched high and low for them. The sockets the lamps were plugged into were different sockets & plugs. In this day and age every room needs plug sockets. We had breakfast the next morning which was the best English breakfast we’ve ever had the bacon and sausages were extremely tasty. Friendly welcome upon checking in and really nice staff throughout the whole establishment. Would we stay again, yes but would bring power banks to charge our mobiles.

Lovely night away. We came as a family of four. Rooms were clean and spacious. We arrived at lunchtime, so we went to the tavern for lunch. The food was excellent. We booked the main restaurant for our evening meal. Again, the food was excellent. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back.

After reading reviews we were hesitant to book here - glad we went though! Yes the rooms are looking tired but not that bad. Room was spacious & everything clean, pillows aren’t that comfortable but we still slept. We are glad we visited, the whole place is really busy which says it all We had cheese & onion pie in Owd Nell’s, with homemade chips & veg & meals were lovely. Breakfast was at Guys £11.50 each which included cooked breakfast, fruit juice cereal, toast & coffee or tea! The only let down was we had noisy neighbours but it’s not the hotels fault. We would return to Guys.

2 night visit Friday/Saturday 25th and 26th July .Stayed in room 6 I really like Guys and have stayed on numerous occasions. Staff are friendly and it is a great location The downside is the rooms need a lot of TLC.Plaster peeling in the bathroom and flaking paint on skirting boards .Shower fantastic hot and powerful. I would definitely stay again but would hope the rooms have been refurbished

I wanted to give a big shout out to Lily, the waitress who served us at breakfast. A well mannered, attentive and overall perfect waitress ,who is an absolute asset to the establishment. Nothing was too much trouble for this lovely young lady. Xxx I'd like to add that I have never met her before and she is not part of my family or friends. Just a positive review on someone doing a great job!!!

Service was extremely poor, we were seated at the table and after 40 minutes we had to go to the bar to order drinks , Another 15 minutes passed and we had to approach the staff to request that they take our order! We would understand if the place was busy BUT there were probably 6 tables occupied in the whole restaurant. When the food finally arrived it was tasty and enjoyable… we requested a dessert menu which arrived promptly, unfortunately nobody came to take our orders, so we paid and headed home. Very disappointing

We booked a king room with spa bath. The room is tired and dated but was really clean. Towels and sheets spotless. The bed was the absolute worst bed I've ever slept in, so uncomfortable. I was awake half the night. Told reception when I dropped the key off but she didn't seem bothered. We are in guys and it was lovely. The service definitely slowed down during the meal though and they kept us waiting a lot although it didn't seem busy. Wouldn't return.
