We wanted to do a one night relaxing staycation, so decided to give this resort a try. We checked in at 10am and was told that rooms aren't available until 4pm but that we can use the pools while we wait. So the pool areas are nice, but felt nearby hot spring resorts had better options for different pools and the mud area is much better at other resorts. In addition, it was extremely difficult to find a lounger, would've been nice if a section was reserved to hotel guests. So after spending most of the day in the sun and in different pools we needed to get ready for our 5pm dinner reservations. So we walk back to the front desk at 4pm and was told our room was not ready and to just wait for a call. 4:30 rolls around and still no call. Again we waited in a 15 min line to get to the front desk to be told our room wasn't available and that there was no time frame as to when it would be ready. I then spoke to the manager Jaime and explained to her that we really needed to get a room soon, and were open to take any room that is available since we had reservations at 5pm. She proceeded to tell me that there are no rooms available, and there was no time frame for when it'd be ready, and then told me that my option was to shower and get ready in the public restroom or in the bar restroom lol. We again sat down in a lobby full of customers waiting for a room, and decided to give it another 20 minutes, but still no room. Again waited in line for the front desk, by the time we got to the front, it's 5:10pm, still no room and no time frame. Once again we spoke to Jaime who apologized saying that the delay was due to many check outs that day, and that some things are beyond their control. I'm sorry how is that beyond your control, and why is your problem suddenly the customers problem??! So we told her to cancel our reservation, we'll just go find a hotel with a room that's actually available. Jaime told us that would be fine but that she'd charge us for day use of the pools!!!! So instead of offering a discount or voucher for a drink for the inconvenience, she wants to charge us!!! After spending more time explaining to her how ridiculous that would be to charge us, she finally agreed to not charge. We travel a lot, and have been to many resorts, it's sad to say that this one was by far the worst experience we've ever encountered. I hope that they not only improve operations, but please train the managers better. They are in the hospitality industry, there was nothing hospitable about our experience.
