Red Roof Inn Murray

I need to counter the recent reviews of this specific Red Roof Inn we stayed two nights in Murray KY just before Christmas. Previous reviews gave me pause but my husban had already booked so, for the great price, I agreed. Pleasant surprised! This property has recently undergone an update, at least cosmetically, as we had noted in driving past in November. ( had stayed in this as a Holiday Inn years ago so I knew it had some age on it.) The room was comfortable and clean as was the bed, although the mattress felt as if it had some age on it. Big tv and new fridge and microwave. You do get what you pay for: outside entrance but upclose parking; no breakfast but one-cup coffeemaker. We arrived really late and attendant had to be called to come to desk, where she was friendly and courteous. Linens were adequate but tissue was a packet. Overall, we were both relieved and gratified to find a location which suited our purposes at a great price, since all the others in Murray have jacked up their prices. We travel a lot and have stayed in many levels of hotels, even in Murray. Don't let older reviews deter you! I almost regret writing this as I am hopeful this one will remain a "secret."

Looking at the reviews, they respond every time with an apology and must combat with another good review. Their 3 Stars does not reflect this hotel. It is a dump and should not receive a star whatsoever. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone; especially to family members visiting thier sons and daughters whom attend Murray State. I have to put at least a Star which is over rating this location.

Room was clean. Building in disrepair. I have never in my life been treated with such disrespect from anyone. Called me a liar. I would of went someplace else, but was exhausted from traveling. This guy needs a lesson in hospitality 101. I heard him lie to a potential customer about they do not allow a dog…they do. Your parking lot was pretty empty and your not the only hotel in town. Kindness goes a long way. You better figure it out soon, or you will be out of business! You give Red Roof a bad name.
