If you're staying in the Murchison region, don't even consider anywhere else. Philip is a wonderful host who runs a really great bed and breakfast. From the welcoming to our departure, nothing was too much for him. He has thought of every little extra to make the stay feel so homely and special. The breakfast was substantial and once again, he'd thought of every possible breakfast food! It is definitely the best place we have stayed on our two week tour of NZ!

Si j’avais pu mettre un 6 sur 5 je l’aurais fait ! L’accueil est parfait, la chambre est très grande et le salon commun très confortable. Le petit déjeuner est fait par notre hôte avec nous, il est copieux et délicieux. Philip est attentionné, drôle et prodigue de très bons conseils de visite 👍 Merci pour Foulwind cap et ses Phoques 😉

Lovely part of the world, very comfortable and well-appointed property with river frontage, splendid host, exceptionally good breakfast. This was a return visit and we again particularly enjoyed the spacious River room with its appealing outlook.

Philip est d'une gentillesse incroyable et on se sent bien chez lui dès l'arrivée Le lodge est superbe et les chambres parfaites , grandes , salle de bains grandes et jolies Le lieu est vraiment agréables avec les animaux , poules , poussin, moutons N'hésitez pas aller au bord de la rivière en prenant le petit chemin que Philip vous indiquera , il y a construit un petit abris avec des chaises et une superbe vue sur la rivière Le petit dej avec les produits frais et le pain fait maison est extra Il ne manque rien ,et Philip fait tout pour que nous soyons bien lors de notre séjour Merci beaucoup Allez y les yeux fermés c'est top !!!

Absolutely fantastic! Cannot recommend Murchison Lodge enough. Just book it! Family of 4, stayed in December for 1 night. Had we known how wonderful it was, we'd have booked for longer, we didn't want to leave! Booked direct. Philip replied promptly and was incredibly helpful. On arrival he greeted us and showed us round the beautiful lodge. Everywhere was incredibly clean, beautiful views, homemade cake, well stocked - basically everything was so easy and provided and just what you want when travelling. Philip very kindly accommodated our very last minute request for an extra room, even though he'd already set up Koru room especially for our boys as a twin. Large bedrooms and bathrooms, all tastefully decorated. Breakfast was outstanding. Lots of home made delicious products. Nice walk down to the river and easy to walk in to town. Truly wonderful hosts.

Some people told us to skip Murchison as there is supposedly nothing there. We strongly disagree as the Murchison Lodge of Philip and Daphne is a wonderful place to stay, surrounded by rivers and hills. The Lodge is very homely and Philip and Daphne are wonderful hosts, very warm and welcoming. The custom made breakfast is fantastic (I am still trying to replicate the poached eggs 😉). Definitely worthwhile stopping by and slowing down to fully appreciate this place. We'll visit again if we ever get the chance.
