Mountain Lodge Telluride

Great lodge. The valet service and shuttle is great when traveling with toddlers. The pool and other amenities are great. The gondola is free and a quick walk. There is a little market that seems to have everything you might need. If you rent a condo through Airbnb just be sure to read the reviews. Our experience was good. Having read the reviews, we knew some of the feedback ahead of time. So we were prepared with bringing what we would need yo have a perfect stay.

Not a great experience. Last minute booking for us as we decided to stay in Telluride instead of Ouray. Booked directly through their website. Website clearly states no hidden fees, and the sign out front and website says $39 valet AVAILABLE but this is MANDATORY. Not a dealbreaker, but I mentioned to them their website did not explain this. Website also states easy cancellation, but email after booking said absolutely no cancellations, but this may have been due to me booking same-day. I booked this location specially because it had an onsite restaurant and pool, which we learned were closed as soon as we arrived due to a wedding (again, not mentioned on website). Had to walk down the hill to our building with our luggage. Valet kid said “oh you have a great view of the mountains down there”. First floor view of mountain was nearly completely blocked by trees. There is no AC! I don’t believe this was listed on their website either. No screen on balcony doors, so could not keep those open overnight. The “tiny rooms” do not have king size beds so we were forced to book a king size suite, which we never would’ve done for one night. Rooms need upgrades (peeling paint). No body wash in room, just a tiny hand soap. Got out the iron to press a pair of white/red pants to go to dinner. The last person who used it obviously burned something on it and it wasn’t cleaned, so it ruined my pants. Management seemingly reluctantly gave us a discount, but didn’t really bother to apologize for the inconvenience. Should’ve booked elsewhere or an AirBnb…the cost would’ve been the same.

For the price and location this felt very outdated and unprepared. We went for a wedding and it was the first day of their "open" season. The restaurant, parking, and staff all seemed confused. The valet system is terrible, the rooms outlets didnt work, they put everyone in separate buildings for the wedding, and we had no view. You also couldn't charge things to the room it all had to be paid when you ordered carry out. Everything closes at 9- including the bar. For the money I would not stay again, there was also construction going on that delayed moving of vehicles and driving in general.

The facility was nice. However, there was highly limited dining as most places were closed and the hotel bar/restaurant wasn’t open. The gondola was also not in operation. There was a very noisy family that got placed above us which made our last night and morning not so pleasant. Outside of that, we enjoyed our stay and loved the premises and our surroundings.

We had a great spring break in Telluride - it never disappoints! This was our first time staying at Mountain Lodge Telluride. I wanted to shout out to a few people who made our stay extra pleasant. Brian made great coffee and treated us with a smile each morning! Levi was quick with the shuttle, golden nuggets of advice, and humor! I didn't get everyone's name, but the golf cart drivers saved the day by taking us to and from our room when the road was icy! Everyone was kind and helpful - thanks!

Booked single bedroom suite on TA's 'limited time offer.' Our 'mountain view' room was basement level (3013), w/ view only of embankment under street, very dark, with broken shade we couldn't raise on the only window. (Looking at others from outside, many in the same condition.) No internet for most of stay, front desk blamed it on 'storms in valley,' though they had it in main building the entire time; they never offered any help to fix connection in our building, or to refund our resort/internet fee. Seems to be run by kids, indifferent to any request/complaint. Same for housekeeping -- never responded to request for burned out kitchen bulb, and never serviced our room the second day. Though spacious, layout was odd -- bedroom TV in front of only dresser, few hangers and no coat pegs. Could hear everything said in adjoining room, thru closed inner doors. There are much better accoms to be had on the mountain, fortunately; won't stay here again, and will be more skeptical of TA's offer descriptions.
