Beautiful, old hotel right on the lake in Mount Dora. She was showing her age but her charm made up for it. I was looking forward to the pool, unfortunately the water was the same temp at the air. Hot. 🥵 not refreshing at all. It looks like they have started a pier renovation/ improvement, but they seemed to have stopped mid way through, such a shame as it looks like it will be lovely when/if finished. It's within walking distance to everything in town so that is also nice. Despite the bathroom door not having any hardware, the water barely trickled out of the sink and the creaky bed, I would still stay here again

We got a good rate from the friendly front desk lady Parking was good The setting is spectacular We were upgraded to a lake view room Room is small only One chair and it needs cleaning Bed comfortable but could use an upgrade on the mattress Rug in room not so clean but all else clean Bathroom small but ok and towels and amenities very good Pool big and wonderful Porch peaceful to sit on Coffee at 6 in the lobby Wi-Fi good

The building that we stayed in smelled of dead vermin and exterminating chemicals. There were rat and lizard droppings in the hallway, along with spiderwebs and dead bugs everywhere it looked as though the carpets had not been cleaned in about a century. We were on the third floor of the building where it seemed that no other people were staying in. The stench going from the front door up to the third floor with no air conditioning was excruciating. Made me want to throw up every time I had to make the trip. They were also redoing the roof so we had to deal with nail guns and compressors the entire time the pool was filthy and rundown.

We booked 2 rooms just a day before our trip. The room my boyfriend and I had was large and had a view of the pool and Lake Dora. It was very clean and well-stocked with towels and other essentials. The bed was very comfortable. My only complaint was beyond the hotel's control: the people in the room next to us were extremely loud while apparently enjoying an intimate evening (that went on for more than 2 hours!) As noted by hotel management, these buildings are originals (i.e. historical/old). We loved the charm and nostalgic feel of the whole place. But the walls are "thin" :)

Historic hotel on beautiful Lake Dora. I have respect for the history, but struggling to bring my suitcase up the stairs (no elevator that I could find) wasn’t great. Beds weren’t comfortable. The Beauclaire restaurant was incredibly over-priced and just ok. The location is the best part of the hotel. Wouldn’t book again.

Termites in the hotel building hallway, and a big giant cockroach in the lounge area with musty carpet. That picture of the dining table setting with the wine glasses - that dining room is deplorable, and some of the servers leave much to be desired with their unprofessional attitudes. The food, however was quite good (lunch and dinner), but we didn’t stay for breakfast. The AC in our room wasn’t working properly and we were truly miserable for the 1 night we stayed. Friendly, personable and professional front desk staff. We love historic, clean and well cared for hotels but the lounge, dining room and our room is begging to be remodeled.

Even a one night stay at this historical waterfront inn will make you feel worlds away. Every aspect of the Lakeside Inn is laden with welcoming charm- the staff, the grounds, the amenities, events, restaurants, down to the carefully curated gift shop featuring the works of local artisans. The town is just steps away and aptly referred to as “Mount Adorable.” The inn is a recommended stop for any visitor of the “hidden gem” of Mount Dora but a stay here is essential for the full and extended experience!

Do not stay in this old Inn anytime during the summer, as the buildings are ripe with termites (pics) & more active when it’s very hot. Also, in many of the rooms the A/C does not work! Note that this hotel has 3 buildings besides the main lobby building w/restaurants & it is not for anyone with disabilities or anyone who cannot navigate stairs (with luggage), since there are several small flights of stairs even on the 1st floor. There is no way to use a luggage cart due to the stairs & try doing it in high heat/humidity in summer, yikes! This is a very old, historic hotel yes, but the filth everywhere is unacceptable, especially for how much you pay for the downtown/lake location. There is not adequate staff to care for it. We did not get any wash cloths, only hand towels & bath towels. Plugs wouldn’t stay in the bathroom outlet, A/C issues & more. “Free” coffee in the lobby was weak. Note there’s not enough parking for all guests, so be aware of that too. *Beauclair restaurant dinner was horrible/bland- filet & lobster tail dinner—-save your money. Breakfast was better, but overpriced, better to go to Cody’s or elsewhere. (Servers here were friendly though) Bottom line: Better to find other accommodations in Mt. Dora, there are many vacation rentals that will not ruin your visit.

Not worth the money bldg needs a redo rugs on stairs were stained of the wear the room needs a new matress and furniture it can be updated and kept in era the water temp is terrible when taking a shower if other rooms are using water the whole Inn outside needs to be pressure wash its all full of bugs everywhere the pool was dirty no umbrellas for shade the only good thing was it was within walking to everything the restaurant in main bldg too pricey your better off walking and eating somewhere else I stayed in main bldg was not impressed gave it a star to do review
