Here’s a polished version of your review with a warm but natural tone and a little personality, as you like: --- 5 Stars – Fantastic Stay at Breathtaker Hotel We had a wonderful stay at Breathtaker Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, especially when it came to our challenging dietary requirements—which is no small feat on a mountain! A special shout-out to Allegra, Charlie, and Willow in the restaurant, who went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after. It’s usually very stressful when we eat away from home and it's rare to feel that well accommodated when you have tricky food needs, but they handled everything with grace, care, and a smile. The whole experience was relaxing and seamless, and we left feeling genuinely cared for—not just like another booking. Would highly recommend Breathtaker if you’re looking for great service, thoughtful hospitality, and staff who care.

We just returned from a two-night stay at the Breathtaker Hotel in Mount Buller, and what a wonderful time we had! We were incredibly lucky with abundant snow during the skiing season opening weekend, which made the experience even more magical. The entire hotel team was friendly and welcoming. Every single person we interacted with was lovely. We enjoyed happy hour drinks and delicious dinners at The Loft Bar. While the Signature Restaurant was only open for breakfast during our stay, The Loft Bar provided tasty food with generous portions, reasonably priced as well. Breakfast was a selection from the continental buffet alongside a menu of hot dishes to order, complemented by barista-made coffee. Our room was perfectly equipped for the winter weather. We appreciated the cozy fireplace, heaters in every room, and the convenient heated drying racks. There was also a good selection of tea, fresh fruit and everything else we could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Plus, we had beautiful views from our room! A special shout-out to the Below Snow Transfer Service. Our driver, Robert, was not only friendly but also informative. He shared interesting facts about the area, pointed out where the gnomes live for the kids, and professionally navigated the challenging road conditions with snow and altitude. This service is highly recommended! We've just returned from Mount Buller and cannot wait to go back to experience its beauty and the Breathtaker Hotel's outstanding hospitality again.

Great location. Mostly friendly staff who are way out of their depth trying to fix all the old broken items in room. Our fridge was broken, TV didn’t work, coat hangers were broken, the old couch is made of a weird (faux?) leather where cushions continually slide themselves and you onto the floor. Bedroom furniture was broken and there is absolutely no room to put anything, so you’re constantly tripping over your bags. Plus most of the larger rooms have an insanely narrow spiral staircase up to the bedrooms (so easy to get a suitcase up!) and they couldn’t give us any alternative room safer for our young kids. We asked for baby gates which when installed didn’t close. Staff tried their best to help but tbh these problems start and finish with the lazy and/or stingy management and owners. We paid over $4700 for 3 nights and it was the worst value for money I’ve seen in a snow resort anywhere. We feel completely ripped off and will warn our family and friends off staying here. At half the price you could forgive the occasional broken item but this was ridiculous. We won’t be back!

The service is impeccable. From the moment we arrived the staff were amazing. From picking us up from the car park before 9am to everything in between everyone made our stay extremely pleasant. Also this hotel gives great perks such as $100 lift tickets which is great. The room itself however was quite disappointing. It was far too small for the price we paid and was a bit tired and the furniture was old and worn. You would expect something a bit roomier and better for over $1000 per night. The cupboard was small and there were only a few coat hangers which made staying in such a small space so challenging. The lockers although great that they were individually allocated lockers, they were also too thin for anything more than a couple of pairs of skis making it challenging to leave your things.

The property is well located and good quality, but out-dated and in some areas underwhelming given the price Staff are very welcoming, attentive and do a good job Areas of concern: the ski-storage area is undersized and agricultural given the class of hotel, with basic cages and no heating room or obvious place for changing and fitting skis other than in the main entry which is crowded and wet; the spas and pool facility is great but not available even for teenage kids which is not well advertised and given they seem to allow any old riff-raff from the slopes in to the facility I don't understand why paying guests who can behave themselves albeit are under the age of 18 cannot join; the drying facilities in room are too small and co-located with the bin! Internet facility is hopeless and anyone using a work device that has any level of security may as well bring a typewriter with them; meals in signature restaurant are good, but the room could do with more atmosphere; the happy hour offering is good!

It was our first stay at Breathtaker and it was a mixed experience, mostly negative. To start with the positives, the spa was beautiful and a really lovely space and the location of the hotel was brilliant. The car service up the mountain albeit expensive was good. Negatives: - the included breakfast was appalling, little to no selection or variety, not filled up half the time we were constantly asking to restock items. The staff were inattentive, and provided no table service. We had to get up to ask staff for a barista made coffee (supposedly included) and were told to make it ourselves. - the loft bar and sitting area closed at 8pm when around 20 or so hotel guests were watching the AFL game and drinking at bar. We were kicked out mid match. totally unacceptable. - fine you say, watch the game in your room, well, the tv was behind the bed meaning we would have to stand up to watch the tv in our room, attached, photo, RIDICULOUS! - the room was also SOO small, we could barely fit all our gear, and as snow people know there are big jackets puffers snow shoes etc and we simply had no space, it was cramped and uncomfortable. - the staff were inattentive, and were more interested at drinking and socialising. we witnessed staff get drinks from the loft bar which is for guests and discuss leaving their shift early to go out and drink. - finally, the pool table in the hotel guests only area had to be paid for to be used. outrageous. This hotel is not worth the money and we left extremely underwhelmed and disappointed.
