Sable Mountain Lodge, A Tent with a View Safaris

A lovely place to stay as a family… off the beaten track as we understand that the majority of visitor stay at the other side of Nyerere NP of fly in for a day safari. Such shame because we can really recommend to take the option to drive trough the park and stay with Sable mountain lodge for example on the way to Mikuni NP… great tented bungalows all with great view and even a bath with an outdoor view! Food was great and great personal attention by all crew of the lodge. We also did a day safari via the lodge which was fantastically organised with great lunch boxes prepared… they even prepped lunch boxes for us on our departure day which we used as part of a picnic in Nyerere park on our way to Mtemere gate..

We spent one night in Sable Mountain Lodge in June 2019. The camp is located on the slopes of a hill in lushed forest. It’s a very peaceful and relaxing lodge. The rooms are well equipped and clean. The beds are comfortable. The lounge is very comfortable. Both lounge and restaurant have a beautiful view on the forest. During the dinner, we were very lucky as we heard and saw a mother galago in the tree close to the terrace of the restaurant, who was calling her baby. UNIQUE and UNFORGETTABLE experience!!! The food is excellent. The staff is friendly and professional.

Absolutely amazing views which made the drive up here worth while. Staff were very attentive and the food was lovely. Be prepared to leave your electrical items in the bar area as there are no plugs in the rooms. The rooms are comfy and the view is fantastic. The safari was everything we could have wanted.

The camp had a lovely atmosphere and great views from the lodges, the lodges were basic, but had all you needed. The restaurant food was fantastic and all of the staff were lovely. The safari trips were well organised and I felt perfectly safe at all times. A great location with the wonderful Nyerere national park a short drive away from the camp. I saw all manner of wildlife and it was a fantastic experience. I booked through Lisa Hillyard of Travel Counsellors and the whole trip was well organised and enjoyable. Thanks to all involved.

A stunning lodge with amazing people. We stayed for three nights and it was fabulous. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The lodge was superb with gorgeous views. The food was delicious too. We saw plenty on the game drives with our excellent guide. They also have a pool which is great for cooling down after busy day. Don’t think twice about booking.
