Wir waren vom 23.12. -26.12. vor Ort und waren für zwei Weihnachtsfeiertage die einzigen Gäste in der Lodge. Trotzdem mussten wir auf nichts verzichten. Der Service, sowie das Essen war hervorragend. Uns wurde ein schönes Weihnachten geboten. Am 25.12. konnten wir uns sogar etwas besonderes zum Essen wünschen und unser Tisch wurde extra schön, im freien unter dem Sternenhimmel angerichtet. Der Zimmerstandart ist sehr gut und die Sonnenaufgänge von der eigenen Terrasse ein Traum! Auch unser Safari Guide war Spitze!

Safari exceptionnel et inoubliable de 2 nuits 3 jours dans un endroit magique le long de la rivière Fuhiji dans un écolodge incroyable, avec tout ce dont on peut Rêver !!!: Le Rêve à l'état éveillé !!! Merci à tout le Personnel pour son Accueil doté d'une Réelle gentillesse et d'un très grand Professionnalisme et d'une Discrétion qui nous a permis d'apprécier cette Aventure dans le Parc de Selous. Pris en charge totalement par Abel, notre guide Safari, non seulement un Grand Professionnel mais aussi un Amoureux de son métier et, à notre écoute, qui nous a fait découvrir les Girafes, Antilopes, Zèbres, Hippopotames, Éléphants, Cobras Hyènes et Lionnes et Lions ! Ainsi que la Flore de la Savane et ses Paysages très variés Merci encore Abel et Hydofer pour avoir su gérer le gros orage court mais très intense ! Merci aussi à notre guide, sur son bateau, pour la découverte de la rivière,avec ses crocodiles et Hippopotames et le cri de bienvenue de tous les oiseaux ! ASANA SENTE for Nice People in Serena

This lodge was great, and we stayed at a private villa with a river over look. All of the lodge main areas and villas overlook the river. The villas have air conditioning, and were clean and comfortable. They had a nice bathroom, including an inside tube and exterior private shower. There was also a private sundeck overlooking the river. They have a small pool at the main lodge which was clean and nice. The food was pretty good, and you have choices at each meal, and lots of food. We did game drives, a river cruise and bush nature walk, and we enjoyed all of them. Our main guide was Jumbe, who was very knowledgeable and great and answered all our questions. The river cruise was super cool, and you can see lots of animals along the river in a different type of safari than other places in Tanzania. The staff are helpful, friendly and did a great job with service.

The flight from zanzibar to kiba airstrip was a brilliant start to our 2 day safari. We met our guide abel at the airstrip, who shared his vast knowledge of the wildlife & surrounding areas on our jeep safari through nyerere park . It was amazing. We Loved it & it just kept getting better . We arrived at mivumo lodge late afternoon & we was stunned by this place , the setting is unreal . On the banks of the rufiji river . The staff are so friendly & welcoming. the food was great . Day 2 - morning boat safari on the river with our guide issa , who shared his knowledge of the river & wildlife. A great trip , we even saw giraffes from the boat We returned to the lodge for lunch , before our trip to the airstrip with abel & park ranger paul . Giraffes & impala popping up all over ,also 2 elephants with there baby Overall an amazing experience Thank you

Die Serena Mivumo River Lodge können wir uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen für alle, die nach einem wirklich außergewöhnlichen und exklusiven Safari Erlebnis suchen! Die Zimmer sind wunderschön eingerichtete Hütten im afrikanischen Stil mit Blick auf den Rifuji River. Unser Highlight war die Außendusche auf der großzügigen Terrasse mit Blick auf den Fluss. Dort der Stille und den Tiergeräuschen zu lauschen ist unbeschreiblich. Das gesamte Team ist sehr zuvorkommend und familiär, es gibt nur wenig Zimmer und zu unserer Reisezeit Anfang Oktober war maximal ein weiteres Zimmer belegt, was für uns am Anfang ein bisschen komisch war, aber man gwöhnt sich sehr schnell daran :) Auch die Safari war ein unbeschreibliches Erlebnis! Der Nyerere Nationalpark ist nicht so überlaufen wie die Parks im Norden Tansanias und man fährt zum Teil stundenlang ohne einem anderen Jeep zu begegnen. An jeder Ecke gibt es Antilopen, Giraffen und Nilpferde und beeindruckende Landschaften. Auch auf der Safari ist man sehr privat und hat seinen eigenen Guide, der die Touren plant und durchführt. Hervorheben möchten wir unseren Guide Abel, der uns mit seinem Know How die wunderschöne Tierwelt und Natur des Parks gezeigt hat und geduldig alle unsere Fragen beantwortet hat. Wir konnten in einer heißen Quelle baden, hatten ein Picknick am Ufer eines Sees und auch die Bootsafari zum Sonnenuntergang war sehr schön! Nach etwas längerem Suchen haben wir dann auch Löwen und Elefanten gsehen. Ein wirklich außergewöhnliches Erlebnis für uns! Asante Sana an das gesamte Team!

We stayed at the Lodge for three nights. Our guide Richard was there to meet us at the airstrip following which there was a long and bumpy journey to the Lodge. The Lodge itself is lovely although we felt the rooms were dated and the steps down to the room were in our view too steep. The main area looked over the Rufigi river which was fabulous. On our first afternoon we went on a river safari which was so good we ended up doing one each afternoon we were there. The game drive however was not so great. We did the same long and bumpy drive to the swamp area and the same long and bumpy drive back Richard seemed reluctant to take us on a different route out of the camp the following day although he said that we would see a different area. He also said that the Tsetse flies were bad in other areas - they were certainly in evidence. We therefore decided not to go on any more game drives and stuck to the river. The food at the lodge was excellent; in fact it was the best food we had on the whole Safari. We had an issue over our full board package on arrival but this was dealt with by the Lodge and our Travel Agent. We would definitely recommend the Lodge but not for the land based wildlife safaris.

Cet hôtel est fabuleux ! Le personnel est vraiment attentionné. La carte du menu change chaque jour avec un choix assez varié et c’est très bon! Les chambres sont très spacieuses et décorées avec énormément de charme. Une belle terrasse équipée de transats permet même de prendre la douche en extérieur face à la rivière !

We spent five days here as a family of four, staying in two lodges and doing ten safaris; a mixture of jeep, walking and river safaris, the latter at both sunrise and sunset. We had the most enjoyable experience and felt that we were warmly welcomed into such a wonderful extended family. Nothing was too much trouble and everything felt like it was designed for us, bespoke and personalised. The staff are friendly, hard working and fun. Yuseph and the team of waiters and waitresses looked after us well at meal times, knowing that our son always wanted double portions of the fish and meat and no carbs! The bush breakfast was one of our best memories, and all set out on the bonnet of the jeep, with a tablecloth and napkins, delicious! Emil took good care of our rooms and laundry, his service was exceptional. Sheria organised a special experience on the beach, looking at the stars, around a fire pit, again, an unforgettable experience. Richard and Godsun were our safari guides. Richard is a man of many talents, speaking multiple languages, spotting camouflaged wildlife, and planning a unique safari experience that worked so well for us as a family. Paul, the ranger, accompanied us on the walking safari and star gazing experience, keeping us safe. My son and husband also enjoyed several games of football with the staff in the evening, which everyone enjoyed. Thank you to everyone. The owners should be proud of this wonderful staff team. The safari experience was perfect and this was as a result of such a special staff team.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, making us feel incredibly welcome. Unforgettable Safari The highlight was the Selous Safari with our amazing guide, Abely Mrema. His knowledge was impressive he knew every stone and place on the safari. On the first day, we saw lions, giraffes, birds, impalas and a lot more. The second day featured elephants, zebras, hippos and even a leopard! Scenic Boat Ride We ended the first day with a riverboat ride, spotting crocodiles, hippos, buffalo, and more. It was the perfect end to a day of adventure. Highly Recommended Serena Mivumo Lodge is heaven on earth. For an unforgettable experience in Tanzania, this lodge is a must-visit.
