Surprisingly very comfortable and has got everything what we need. Free car park and great meal just in front. Definitely stay there again.

Can’t complain about the meal it was great but all I can say is “WOW” the attitude of the bar & service staff was shocking. Took my mother out for her birthday & it was just so disappointing to have it ruined with drawling sarcasm & rude answers. Doesn’t matter how nice the food is!!! Not going back.

It's the second time I went to this bistro. The last time was a year ago and it wasn't great. I thought I'd give it another go. I ordered a Sirloin steak, said on the paper menu being 350g at $36, but on their "specials" board $35 for 250g. I did point out this to the lady at the counter, she said, you will get a 350g. I wanted a medium rare. It ended up being a steak of about 250g in size, fully cooked through and tough as with lots of tendons. I had a sirloin at Risdon Cove Tavern a week ago, paid about the same price and it was superb, literally chalk and cheese. I would not go back to Mornington Inn again.

Easy access and affordable accommodation.
The dining room is open all day to have an early evening meal.
Meals we're good and reasonably priced.
Very noisy location. Traffic noise for a good part of the evening.
All in all worth a stay for budget accomodations.

I was surprised at how generally nice this place was for the price - a double a single bed, each made up very nicely, fresh clean linen and towels and decent bathroom.
The aircon was in fairly old shoddy condition, the screen was unable to be read hence temperature altered effectively; the free-to-air channels limited, but they did have a TV; and while there was a decent sized fridge, kettle and toaster, the only spoon provided was bent to the extent that it was clear it had been used to mix something stronger than caffeine prior to my visit.
The service was also pretty good - and the view from the window, except at peak hour when the traffic noise from the intersection drowned out all other senses, was pretty nice. Oh and it is right on the bus route.
