AI Summary
The hotel is conveniently located for exploring the area, with comfortable, clean rooms and good road access. However, guests were dissatisfied with limited dining options and slow service. Staff efficiency needs improvement.

Good location for heading to the lakes or mountains. This one you need to book your breakfast the night before due to high demand all you can eat for 10 pound not bad. Comfortable rooms warm and cozy annoying noises from other quests just above. The parking is available here just can be about cramped but managed to get a space. Beds super comfortable. The local town has allot of takeaways and pubs but you won't get taxis so expect a 50 minute walk or drive your car in.

waited 30 minutes queueing at the bar to order our food (only 9 people in front of us), waited 30 mins , for one warm meal to arrive, then 25 mins for the second meal to arrive. On saturday at 23.00 lost power due to the storm. No emergency lighting in room, corridor, or stairs - left the next morning, a day early. Not offered ANY compensation, either for the dreadful dining experience, or for dreadful hotel experience.

Hotel.lost power on the Saturday, the day after the storm, leaving now electricity or water, just given a card contact customer services, which provided a £25 refund, totally unacceptable. The meal Friday night in the bar attached was poor, taking over 50 mins for food to arrive, the manager being short in response to this matter, short of staff being an issue, will not be returning, worst Premier inn we have stayed in

Bed, cleanliness and bathroom was as good as you need and I liked the choice of hard or soft pillows. And the carpark was big enough to make you not need to get there early to find a space even for vans, and you can put you vans round the back so they can not be seen by the scum and they are on Camera. The TV is stupid as they don’t have all the digital channels and the room heaters are noisy so you have to turn them off when going to sleep.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times due to family connections in the area. We arrived on Fri 27th Dec for two nights. We only lasted one night and came home. This was due to the absolute shambles of a pub next door - The Howgate and hardly any food/breakdast available. The lady on Reception said we had to book a table for the evening so we did for 6pm arrived at 5pm to a sign on the door saying restaurant closed. We’d popped in for a drink in the afternoon and a rumour was going round the pub there was only one chef on. Obviously he finished his shift and went home. All the rude lady on serving drinks says is she can’t answer our question as to whether there will be food!! The worst of it is Premiere Inn claim ‘they are nothing to do with the pub’ well yes you are, as you advertise their breakfast and meals and even allow us to book through you on your website!! Some people don’t want to drive out to eat and book these hotels for the pubs next door! Premiere Inn are well aware of the mess going on with the pub next door, the Receptionist told us this, yet you don’t warn us of this on your website. My husband booked his breakfast for the second morning and after a long walk out, came back to signs all over the hotel saying breakfast cancelled. We’d also popped in to the pub again to see what the situation was and it was the same, the same lady couldn’t answer our questions and rude. That was the final straw and home we came. A weekend away (that was needed due to issues at home) ruined. I have never experienced anything like it and stay in Premiere Inn’s quite a lot. That was at least my 3rd Premiere Inn booking this year! Think it will be the last.

Damp, mouldy room without opening windows. Breakfast was cancelled as they didn't have enough staff on shift. Exterior of the building is shocking. Very slow check-in. One towel between 4 people. Beds not made on arrival. Overall a pretty bad experience!!

We booked 2 rooms for 4 adults for a 1 night stay with breakfast. After a longer than normal journey due to the adverse weather, we arrived there only to be told that the Premier Inn was shut due to a power cut. It wasn't the poor receptionists fault that there was a power cut but surely someone could've emailed us to tell us the Inn was closed before we set out on our 6 hour drive? Also the adjoining pub we were told had been shut for ages so if the Inn was open as normal I'm not sure where we would've had our breakfast? The receptionists told us we could stay there but obviously there would be no power, hot water etc. We had to explain that that was probably against health and safety as there would be no lighting or working sprinklers if a fire were to break out. So we asked for a refund.... The receptionist said they couldn't refund our money but would leave a note for the staff to chase it up the next day when the power had been restored. We came back the next day to ask a different receptionist about our refund and the note and she said she didn't know anything about it. Anyway after a lot of phone calls we managed to get our money back, but disappointingly only half of it! To cut a long story short, after a few more phone calls we eventually got the other half of the money. The whole saga from arriving there to eventually being refunded all of our money was about 2 and a half weeks. What a palaver!!!!

A basic Premier Inn, the room as standard and adequate. The restaurant and bar suffer from a desperately poor beer selection and draughty unheated areas. All three tables at the bottom end of the restaurant asked to be moved, as the huge radiator behind them was not working. The staff were uninterested until we became vocal. My own fault really, you don't pay much, and you get even less. I would have thought making your guests comfortable would be the minimum requirement in the Hospitality business.
