Bask Hotel at Big Rock Landing, Trademark Coll by Wyndham

The bask is hard to get in and out of- you have to u-turn on the busy highway and the locals get aggravated. The parking lot is very narrow. The rooms are hot- our ac was set on 60 all weekend and it didn’t get below 75°. There is a sign that warns you of the noisy ac unit, but it’s just old. It’s so noisy that you can’t sit on the balcony to talk. The breakfast order came incorrectly every single morning…. Items were left off (several items- bread, drinks, entire meals…..). They leave your food in a box on the floor by your door. The floor hasn’t been vacuumed in a great while- the sandy foot print in front of the elevator had been there during our entire stay. Our room had trash, potato chips, nail file, and a fishing lure behind the pull out sofa where my son was sleeping. I asked for room service the next day to vacuum it, but they never did. There was only 1 fork in the drawer of the kitchen. You have to ask for disposable silverware which is brought with your breakfast. I specifically asked if there was body wash in the room when we checked in. I was assured there was- however the bottle was empty. I was given some soap in a paper cup to get me through until someone could replenish the body wash the next day. That tells me they are not refilling the disposables very often. There is a night stand with a lamp on one side of the bed, but only an extension cord for the other side of the bed! The attention to details are not taken seriously with this hotel. The only nice part was talking with Dawn at the front desk. She’s a gem!

The hotel is a high rise and was once an “old folks home” extremely well built and very well renovated each room has a br, full kitchen, and sitting area with expansive views of Bogue Sound The room had some insects, the coffee mkr did not work and the WiFi would not connect to my laptop, tried to trouble shoot with front desk but had no luck, I am a Bonvoy frequent guest and have no issues so not sure why I couldn’t connect. They charged me for a bottle water and parking fee in addition to 250 for the one night stay, breakfast was a cold made to order sandwich it was just OK but it was delivered on time with pre order at check in, there is a large construction project across the street which was just a minor inconvenience for noise and road closure on ingress and egress

This was a fantastic experience. Everything was exceptional. This was a great and very convenient hotel, easily within walking distance to all local attractions and food establishments. Hotel staff was fantastic. Hotel was very well appointed, clean and updated

As advertised. Clean, friendly staff, and great location.

The stay at Bask was comfortable with great views. The staff was friendly and helpful.
